Atheists: The Catholic Church has always been against science Meanwhile the Church: • Georges Lemaître — Catholic priest; proposed the “primeval atom” theory, which became the foundation of the modern Big Bang cosmological model. • Gregor Mendel — Augustinian friar; discovered the laws of inheritance (Mendelian genetics), forming the basis of modern genetics. • Nicolaus Copernicus — Catholic canon; developed the heliocentric model (Sun-centered solar system), transforming astronomy. • Christopher Clavius — Jesuit priest; principal mathematician behind the Gregorian calendar reform still used worldwide today. • Roger Boscovich — Jesuit priest; early theory of atomic structure and force fields, influencing modern physics concepts. • Angelo Secchi — Jesuit priest; pioneer of astrophysics and first classification system of stars based on spectra. • Francesco Maria Grimaldi — Jesuit priest; discovered diffraction of light and contributed to wave theory of optics. • Jean Picard — Catholic priest; first highly accurate measurement of Earth’s radius using modern scientific instruments. • Nicolas Steno — Catholic bishop; founded stratigraphy (law of superposition), a foundation of modern geology. • Marin Mersenne — Minim friar; “Mersenne primes” in number theory are named after him; also built scientific communication networks across Europe. • Benito Viñes — Jesuit priest; developed early hurricane tracking and forecasting methods in Cuba.

Dave: “Hello, caller, you are on the air.” Caller: “I don’t think billionaires create value.” Dave: “Okay. What do you mean by that?” Caller: “Nobody can earn a billion dollars ethically.” Dave: “Alright. What do you do for a living?” Caller: “Well, before this, I was a bartender.” Dave: “Nothing wrong with bartending. Honest work.” Caller: “Right.” Dave: “And now?” Caller: “I work in government.” Dave: “Okay. So let me get this straight. You're saying Elon Musk, who helped build PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, has made innovations like online payments, electric cars, rockets, and satellite internet possible, didn't earn his way to being a billionaire?" Caller: “None of that justifies being a billionaire.” Dave: “Well, sure sounds like value got created somewhere along the line.” Caller: “I disagree.” Dave: “What exactly did you build?” Caller: “I advocate for economic justice.” Dave: “No ma’am, I mean actual products.” Caller: “…” Dave: “You’re telling me the guy catching rockets mid-air created less value than a person who used to serve mojitos and now votes on spending his tax dollars?” Caller: “That’s unfair.” Dave: “What’s unfair is pretending markets are imaginary while cashing a government paycheck funded by the businesses you claim don’t create value.” Caller: “I’m actually a congresswoman.” Dave: “Oh Lord. Of course!"

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: You can't earn a billion dollars. Ilana Glazer: That's right. AOC: You just can't earn that. Glazer: That's exactly correct. AOC: You can get market power. You can break rules. You can do all sorts of things. You can abuse labor laws. Glazer: Yup. AOC: You can pay people less than what they're worth. Glazer: Yup. AOC: But you can't earn that, right? Glazer: That's right. AOC: And so you have to create a myth that -- since you didn't earn that, you have to create a myth of earning it.

🚨 JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO: "When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword — there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory." "In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology." "And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been — if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."

In my opinion, I think Judas hands were tied. It was beyond him. He was predestined from the beginning to betray Jesus! Idk mehn this is messing up my head, guys! Am I alone in this???

@Irishcycle1957 @UcheMaryOkoli Incorrect. Jesus came, from the beginning, to fulfill that mission. It would’ve happened regardless. Completely incorrect to say salvation was dependent upon anyone’s actions other than Jesus.

@Irishcycle1957 @PaxAeterna @UcheMaryOkoli No. That she was the first to see the risen Christ doesn't make her the first Apostle. If we're to look at who is the first Apostle, we should read up, whom did Jesus call first to follow Him. Or we should read to know the Apostle Jesus made head of the team.

Disciples were the broader group of Jesus’ followers—anyone who learned from Him, believed in Him, and sought to live by His teachings. This included the Twelve, the Seventy-Two, Mary Magdalene, Martha, and many others (men and women). “Disciple” simply means “learner” or “student.” Apostles were a specific subset: the Twelve chosen and sent by Jesus with His full authority (the word “apostle” means “one who is sent”). They received the Great Commission directly, along with the power to forgive sins, cast out demons, and govern the early Church. After Judas, Matthias replaced him to keep the Twelve. St. Paul was later called as an Apostle to the Gentiles by the risen Christ. In short: All apostles were disciples, but not all disciples were apostles. The apostles formed the foundational hierarchy Christ established for His Church—bishops trace their line back to them through apostolic succession. This is why the Church still speaks of the “Apostolic” faith. Our Lord built something structured and authoritative, not just a loose movement of learners.

Did you know that Luke, the gospel writer, was actually a trained physician? This medical background made his gospel completely unique from the other three. When Luke describes Jesus healing the woman with the issue of blood, he uses precise medical terms that only a doctor would know. He writes about her condition lasting 12 years and how she had suffered under many physicians. His clinical eye captured details the other gospel writers missed. Luke traveled as Paul's personal doctor during those dangerous missionary journeys. He was the only Gentile among the gospel writers, bringing an outsider's perspective to Jesus's story. But here's what's fascinating: Luke's scientific training made him obsessed with accuracy. He interviewed eyewitnesses directly, including Mary herself. That's why his birth narrative is so detailed.

Today is the feast day of the Annunciation. What happened today literally split history in two. The Angel Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her she will bear the Son of God. The entire fate of the human race hinged on the absolute submission of a young, unmarried girl in Nazareth. To understand the profound theology of the Annunciation, you have to understand the Fall. In the Garden of Eden, a virgin (Eve) listened to a fallen angel, asserted her own prideful will, and brought death into the world. In Nazareth, a Virgin (Mary) listened to a faithful Archangel, submitted her will entirely to God, and brought Life Himself into the world. As Saint Irenaeus wrote in the 2nd century: "The knot of Eve's disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary." She is the New Eve. She gave her "Fiat" (Let it be done unto me according to your word). No hesitation, no thought about herself. Absolutely and holy obedient unto her Lord. In that single moment of perfect obedience, the gates of hell were shattered, and the infinite Creator of the universe took on human flesh. The spiritual war for our souls officially turned the tide. The Blessed Virgin Mary's fiat, her yes, opened the way to our salvation. When she said her Fiat ("Let it be done to me"), the Holy Spirit overshadowed her. Mary officially became the living Ark of the New Covenant. The God who cannot be contained by the cosmos physically confined Himself to a mother's womb to wage war on sin and death. The modern world screams, "My will be done." The Mother of God whispered, "Thy will be done." And that whisper crushed the head of the serpent.
