They hyped up Tyler O’Neill coming into camp slimmed down but I feel like it zapped all his power.
He’s hit several balls that off the bat I feel like are usually home runs with him that aren’t even close.

Orioles' Trevor Rogers got to 2 outs with runners on second & third in the 2nd inning. Here's what Rays did from there:

Remember Chris Jakubauskas? You might not, minor league journeyman who made just 6 starts for the Orioles in 2011 - but he managed to have a 2-hit game against the Nats.

Way back in the day, I used to roll tape whenever an Orioles pitcher came up to bat, just in case something cool happened. I've got a bunch of base hits in the archive here.

How about a bunch of Zach Britton hits from that year! I missed a few, he went 5 for 8 in 2011, but here's a couple, including the homer. I still remember exactly where I was (the floor of the basement with my camera hookup ready) when he went deep at Turner Field.

@Moblinator64 He came up as a starter. Finished his career as a .625 hitter because he never picked up a bat again as an AL closer.

I saved the Baez hit too, 12th inning of that game! Audio is barely there, but I found the full at-bat.

@IronBirdsDJ O's won a game on a base hit by Danys Baez in extras... I saw that one with my own eyes and couldn't believe it. I also saw Strasburg hit one against the O's and saw Tommy Milone homer in his first major league at bat for the Nats. #LetPitchersHit

@mauney5946 Had to have been an awesome thing to see in person. I've seen a heck of a lot after a gazillion years in baseball, but one of the few things missing on my list a pitcher getting a hit. A lot harder to do now obviously.

@IronBirdsDJ Love it dude! Was there that whole series! Jaire Jurjens (oriole legend) held us to one hit Friday night and David Ross hit a grand slam off arrieta Saturday night and then that Sunday was a breath of fresh air. I have hated the braves ever since

Here's P Jeremy Guthrie punching a double to right field in Pittsburgh. I remember his other double, I think it was in DC, it was a liner to the gap and he got picked off second base by the catcher when he got too big of a lead afterwards. Got a few pinch runner clips in here too

I HAVE FOUND THE DANIEL CABRERA FILES. The worst hitter in the history of the Baltimore Orioles, and possibly pro baseball itself. I couldn't find any of his Orioles ABs in my archive of weird, but here's one of his when he was with the Nationals. Career batting average of NINE.
