I’m not a gun owner, but I respect the right of law-abiding Canadians to own firearms. What happened to Nathalie Provost was horrific, there's no question. But decades later, targeting legal owners instead of criminals and illegal guns isn’t the answer. Bans and buybacks miss the real problem. Personal trauma is real, but it shouldn’t drive policy that punishes people who’ve done nothing wrong.

Bullet one is mostly in Ottawa’s hands. It’s done. The rest are mostly in Alberta’s hands and require a $130/tonne industrial carbon price that key players in the Premier’s office celebrated when the MOU was signed. In sum: Alberta, not Ottawa, is now holding up a new pipeline.
