Some of these exchanges happened minutes before the shooting. Florida AG Uthmeier stated that prosecutors reviewed the logs and concluded ChatGPT "offered significant advice to the shooter before he committed such heinous crimes." He added: "If this were a person on the other end of the screen, we would be charging them with murder." Subpoenas have been issued to OpenAl for policies on handling threats of harm, cooperation with law enforcement, etc. OpenAl has said it will cooperate with the investigation but maintains it is not responsible for the killings.
