Had a perfect end to the day with this Wheatear resting on the beach. It’s last stop off before crossing the sea. The light was amazing!

Andean Cock of the Rock from the Peruvian cloud forest! It was a great experience seeing this bird, couldn’t believe it was real at first with how strong the orange stands out among the dark surrounding foliage.

Whilst in Lima, I was staying right next to a wetland reserve with a coastal lagoon. A perfect place for a tone of waders and other waterbirds, including many stopping off on migration. Found a spot where each morning I could get down low and photograph many species up close!

Currently going through images and videos from an incredible time in Peru, including three weeks in the Amazon! Lots of incredible encounters with a wide range of species!

We had a surprise visit to a #NewForest stream recently. This #Razorbill was recorded on a trail camera probably resting after some weather pushed it off course. The Razorbill is a coastal seabird and would usually be found in marine or intertidal water. #WildlifeWednesday

A nice Dunlin portrait from a very cold morning lying down along the tide line in North Norfolk. It was absolutely cluttered with waders at this spot just a few metres away, so it was nice to single out this individual.

A great start to the year with two obliging Snow Buntings at Cley Beach, Norfolk. They’re such nice birds to watch at close range.

A pre-work encounter with a local Barn Owl this week.

A very autumnal morning walk in Thursley Common last weekend.

I had less than five minutes from the time I laid down on a dry-ish patch of sand, until the tide came in and I was lifting my camera up just above the water. But well worth it whilst getting some shots of these Sanderlings at sunrise!

Rarely ever get close looks at Greenshank, however yesterday morning this obliging individual showed down to just a few metres. Mostly resting, but it did wake up a few times to regurgitate a pellet and stretch.

Camera resting on a branch for a bit of stability when filming whilst standing in billbery bushes.

It pays off when you try to find the culprit of every pecking sound you hear high up in a spruce. Whilst in Sumava National Park in August I came across only one Three-toed Woodpecker and for once it wasn't the usual GS Wpecker. Best views I've had of this species!

Continuing the wader theme, had a look at the juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper at Hollowell Reservoir, Northants last night, typically fearless. Pretty beastly bird too, suspect it’s built up some good fat reserves during its stay.

It was incredible when this Grey Phalarope swam by within touching distance. I had to zoom out to 200mm and even then it was a difficulty keeping it within the frame. What was nice was also just lifting my head up from the camera and properly enjoying this amazing bird!

Had my first Grey Phalaropes over the weekend, whilst down in Lymington. The remaining bird yesterday morning really showed off its fearless behaviour. Expect a lot more images and videos!
