Over 52,125 people in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, were reached through community-based surveillance last year - helping them to detect early signs of health threats and address them before they spread. Through this effort, over 2,200 suspected health events were identified and managed.
Through trained Red Crescent volunteers, government health workers, and reporting tools, information is shared quickly and health teams respond faster, and control risks early.
This work is being led by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (@BDRCS1), with support from the @IFRC, the Norwegian Red Cross (@RodeKorsNorge), and other partners in close coordination with the local health authorities and the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Bangladesh.
