Bangladesh is currently experiencing a nationwide resurgence of measles since early 2026, posing a major public health concern, particularly for young children. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (@BDRCS1) is on the ground conducting outbreak detection activities and household visits, disseminating health messages, and coordinating with institutions and organisations such as Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research, and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). @IFRC has launched critical Disaster Emergency Response Funds (@IFRC_DREF) of CHF 500,000 to scale up Bangladesh Red Crescent's operations.

This month marks the 8th year since the massive displacement of people from Rakhine State, Myanmar to Bangladesh. Today, over one million displaced people in Cox’s Bazar depend on ongoing humanitarian support.
