Pierre Lebrun reported in September Roy had 3 years left.
A reason Lou was fired was losing the power struggle to fire Roy (bad coach #LouWasRight. Ownership did not want to move off Roy with 3 years left, would imagine they do not want to pay him for two years to not coach

@IslesNation Roy is not a good coach he doesn't prepare his players his in game management is not good either. However if your a pro and your on the brink of making the playoffs to come out against Chicago and Philly like they did with no hustle, no urgency that is on the players.

Ever since the Olympic Break, the #isles have been god awful to start games & it’s been on Roy.
If this team doesn’t make it to the dance, he’s gotta go. You can blame Darche for having his pulse on the team w/the trades but this is on Patrick Roy. Terrible.
