As FKF, we have the responsibility to position football as a strategic pillar of Kenya’s global agenda. Together with the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, PS Abraham Sing’oei, we had discussions focused on leveraging sports diplomacy to position football as a meaningful national conversation rather than an extracurricular pursuit. The engagement also noted Kenya’s growing footprint in global football governance, with the country now holding three positions across FIFA committees. The meeting further explored opportunities for collaboration around the upcoming France–Africa Summit, with FKF expressing intention to play a more active role in advancing sports partnerships. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized its support in coordination and international engagement ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Federal Republic of Somalia has ratified the IGAD Treaty, marking a pivotal step in advancing regional unity and cooperation. This milestone brings IGAD to the required two-thirds threshold to operationalise the revised Treaty, reinforcing our shared commitment to peace, integration, and sustainable development in the Horn of Africa. As we commemorate #IGADat40, this achievement reflects the spirit of renewal, solidarity, and progress that defines our journey as a regional community. Earlier today, I had the pleasure and honour of presenting the findings of an Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation (IM & E) exercise that the State Department for Foreign Affairs @ForeignOfficeKE recently carried on FOUR diplomatic stations in the Middle East region to our Team Leader, Principal Secretary Dr. @SingoeiAKorir. In October 2025, I had the privilege to lead a team of experts from the Ministry Headquarters 🇰🇪 to carry out an Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation exercise on our Missions in #Doha #Qatar 🇶🇦, #Kuwait City #Kuwait 🇰🇼, #Muscat #Oman 🇴🇲 and # Riyadh #SaudiaArabia 🇸🇦. The exercise, commissioned by the Principal Secretary, and covering the entire workflows of the Missions (Political audit, Performance Management, Human Resources Management, Financial Management, ICT, Legal and Regulatory compliance, and General Administration), was a comprehensive fit-for-purpose test to ensure that our Missions fully ticked on two Performance imperatives - Delivery and Impact: that the ORGANIZATIONAL DELIVERY MECHANICS remained cost-effective and efficient, and that the DELIVERABLES themselves were at all times outcomes-and-impact oriented, and not merely process-driven. The overall objective of the exercise was to re-position the Missions so they can deliver on Kenya's Foreign Policy priorities in a S.M.A.R.Ter way. My sincere appreciation to our teams in the Middle East region for the support they lent us in conducting the exercise within the tight timelines. #DiplomacyInActionKE
