How did HR get ‘trans inclusion’ so wrong? The reckoning starts today, as we expose deep ideological capture at the HR industry body @CIPD - and its CEO’s friendship with trans activist Katie Neeves. It’s a scandal (involving knickers & the police!) 🧵(1/3)

@IsntWorkingPod @AmnestyUK Massively trivial and not really the point but should they be using the “F” word in comms and social media? Feels really jarring and unprofessional

Prediction: @AmnestyUK's press team will make their crisis worse. Why say that? You can tell a lot about what's going on INternally by looking at what an org posts EXternally. This video from May 2026 shows the rot is EVERYWHERE, including their comms department.

@burner032469374 @IsntWorkingPod @AmnestyUK There’s a phenomenon within religious cults when they go into a “death spiral”, as more and more moderate people leave and they are left with the most extreme views. This seems to have happened with Amnesty UK and gender issues: all those with reasonable views have left.

@UKCharitySock Maybe nothing could have saved your sector once leadership started to fail, but silence and waiting definitely wasn't a plan. Now, a lot of jobs will go, and service users will be let down. Sorry 😞

@IsntWorkingPod There is still an enormous amount of internal capture. The sector is insular and small (relatively) so everyone knows everyone. It’s almost impossible to broach any of this at work and be sure that you won’t be managed out. We are here, but we are silent.

If we thought charities would wake up before they collapse under woke/ trans, we'd be creating content for them. We aren't. There is NO sign they grasp how bad this is. NO appetite for discussion. The wrong people are in charge, and it's too late to fix their problems anyway.

@IsntWorkingPod I did a city break back in June and covered a lot of ground in my walks round the street. The only place that there were any progress flags were in the charity shop windows. Even the museums didn't even have any.

@SonyaDouglas There is no other way. A sector that deserved to survive would have started panicking long ago. Instead, they all doubled down. And tbh they still look waaaay too relaxed!

@LucyHunterB @HildegardP @AmnestyUK You can see it just from their external comms. An org's messaging says everything about what's going on inside. And we're yet to see anyone handle a woke/ trans backlash story well. Can you think of a single one who got it right?

@LucyHunterB @HildegardP @AmnestyUK Without. Charities aren't our main focus - mainly because so many are too far gone to know they have a problem, let's alone that they need help/ it's probably terminal. The private sector has much sharper self-preservation instincts. (Plus third sector smugness is too annoying!)

Oh @AmnestyUK... This is NOT the CEO you want in place when you suffer a self-inflicted crisis that sets you against JK Rowling. Kerry has been there since 2000(!) and was previously head of campaigns and comms(!). She is also their spokesperson on women's rights(!!!) 🫣

@HildegardP @AmnestyUK No need for insider intel - all the evidence is in front of us. Well-run organisations do not allow this sort of thing to happen. So much has gone wrong here - it's a story of collapsed standards across multiple departments AND at senior levels. It's very, very bad.

@MoarPart No expert on their finances but sending a 'the grown-ups have all left!' bat signal are: Women's Institute, Scope, Mind, Girlguiding, Volunteering Matters. Too big to fail for now but in dire shape: Oxfam, Macmillan, NSPCC, National Trust. Oh and all the LGBT+ ones, obvs.

@CharlotteCGill Sadly concluding that the UK charity sector will collapse before it fixes itself. It's run by activists, full of group think, no free speech and haemorrhaging public trust - yet more self-righteous than ever. A sector that deserves to survive would be panicking by now.
