Evidence Kwa karatasi!! The GSU officer's life is under threat!! He worked as Raymond's security,he was forced to distribute millions to goons, the money came from treasury,he used to give out his signature before he could pick the millions,he feared to be implicated. He even wrote to EACC about the matter, that is when Raym*nd sent police to raid his house and take every Government belonging, including his Job ID. They fired him for simply refusing to be an accomplice in Raymond's dirty work. Hey have threatened his life.I have the Audio, screenshots in the comment section. Day 1 of the Hackathon comes to a close with energy, insight, and a shared sense of purpose. Today set the tone for what this journey represents; not just a competition, but a launchpad for ideas that can grow into impactful, scalable solutions. From inspiring reflections on persistence and curiosity to strong calls for locally grounded, globally relevant innovation, the message was clear: the future belongs to those who stay curious, collaborate boldly, and build with intention. #NIRUAiHackathon #KenyaAiHackathon

Kenya is standing on the brink of a new wave of innovation, driven by the rapid rise of AI-powered hackathons across the country. Among all these initiatives, one hackathon has truly captured my attention, the AI Hackathon organized by the National Intelligence Research University in partnership with other key stakeholders. As I write this, I am proud to be part of a team preparing to present our solution in the upcoming hackathon presentations not just with the aim of winning, but with a deeper commitment to driving meaningful, homegrown innovation. We are living in an era where national security is no longer negotiable. Recognizing this reality, the National Intelligence Research University has brought together some of the brightest minds to collaboratively develop practical, forward-looking solutions for the betterment of our country. From AI-driven policing and public safety, to governance, cybersecurity, and intelligence-led innovation, this hackathon reflects the future of problem-solving in Kenya. The future is being built now and innovation is at its core. #KenyaAIHackathon #NIRUAIHackathon #AIforSecurity #InnovationForImpact

Technology is changing the battlefield, not just with weapons, but with data, decisions, and fairness. AI can reduce bias and distribute resources better, but only if guided by responsibility. The future depends on how we choose to use it.” __ Inspired by Prof. Saul Marigat

One of the most impactful moments of the Hackathon Workshop has just come to an end: participants have engaged in themed group sessions based on their areas of specialization, seated alongside experts in their respective thematic areas. The session also formed a strong foundation for mentors and innovators to engage meaningfully and set the pace for the next few weeks leading up to March. These early interactions are important in helping teams refine their thinking, strengthen their concepts, and gradually improve ideas into practical, tangible solutions. Innovation thrives where expertise meets collaboration, and this session ensured that every idea was grounded in context, purpose, and impact. #KenyaAiHackathon #NiruAiHackathon

Kenya Launches Ambitious AI Incubation Program to Drive Innovation and National Security. Nairobi, January 19, 2026 Something exciting is happening in Kenya's #Tech scene. The National Intelligence and Research University has kicked off an AI incubation program that's giving homegrown innovators the chance to turn their ideas into real solutions for everyday challenges facing Kenyans. It all started with last year's National AI Hackathon, which drew an incredible response—over 5,600 people signed up, and more than 2,400 teams submitted proposals. Now, the best of these ideas are getting the support they need to actually make it out of the brainstorming phase and into the real world. The innovators selected for the program aren't being left to figure things out alone. They're getting hands-on mentorship from both Kenyan experts and international advisors like Dr. David Dixon from MIT Horizon. It's the kind of support that could make the difference between a great idea that fizzles out and one that actually changes lives. What's particularly interesting is the range of problems these young innovators are tackling. Some are working on AI tools to help farmers deal with unpredictable weather and crop diseases. Others are developing solutions for improving how government services reach citizens, especially in remote areas. There are teams focused on cybersecurity, governance challenges, and environmental sustainability. "We're not just looking to create cool tech," explained Dr. James Kibon, NIRU's Vice Chancellor. "We want to build solutions that make sense for Kenya—things that create jobs, strengthen our security, and keep the knowledge and benefits here at home." The program runs through early March, when the teams will present their refined solutions to government officials and potential investors. For many of these innovators, it's a shot at turning their passion for technology into something that could shape Kenya's future. And perhaps that's what makes this initiative different. It's not about importing solutions from elsewhere or copying what works in Silicon Valley. It's about believing that Kenyans understand Kenyan problems best—and given the right support, they can build the answers themselves. By Hellen Wambui. #KenyaAiHackathon #NiruAiHackathon @Profshaukat

The two-day Pre-Hackathon Mentorship Workshop has come to an end, marking the beginning of an intensive, close to three-month mentorship journey focused on sharpening AI ideas into valuable, practical solutions. This workshop was just the starting point. Innovators leave more ambitious, better informed, and deeply determined to push their ideas further, refine their solutions, and deliver meaningful impact. All eyes now turn to the AI Hackathon event taking place in March 2026. May the best team or individual win! #KenyaAiHackathon #NiruAiHackathon
