There are no good stats on this but anecdotally, I’ve met an alarming number of people who were sexually abused by their fathers/older brothers in the evangelical homeschooling world. Probably at least 20% if I had to guess. Not a shock as to why: Patriarchal family structure. Any frank discussions around sex are taboo, and the kids are really naive about it and often don’t realize what’s happening to them or that it isn’t normal, even at an age when they probably should. They usually don’t have friends outside of their church or access to adults they could confide in who aren’t friends/relatives of their parents. Often don’t have unmonitored internet access, either, which would allow them to google this stuff and figure out what’s going on/what to do about it. Basically the perfect environment for a child predator to operate. It’s incredibly fucked up and sad.

The presidential pardon power will stop being used as a rewards program for loyalists. Inspectors General will go back to investigating corruption instead of getting fired for it. The White House press room will go back to having briefings, with real journalists and not podcasters. U.S. foreign policy will stop revolving around flattering dictators. And the world will progress as though Donald Trump never existed.

I think the difference those are funny gags that don't mean much especially in SImpsons when Bart does something disrespectful to Homer which causes him to be strangled. With Meg they're more meanspirited and come at the cost of the writers admitting they don't know how to write teenage girls. Plus neither of your examples dedicated an entire episode treating the gag as a serious topic all just to walk back on it by the end

@DynamoSuperX 120 FPS is amazing if you have a monitor/TV that supports 120Hz. It makes a massive difference imo. 8K I could do without, I'd rather games run natively at 4K rn

Gaming graphics peaked years ago and the idea of 8K/120fps sounds dumb as hell. ​Games shouldn’t be “indistinguishable from reality,” nor should they waste millions just so I can count the pimples on a character's ass.
