Unpopular opinion: A lot of track coaches can get so caught up in sports science that they’ll lose sight of simplicity. Sometimes, common sense is all that’s needed and not a full biomechanics analysis.

🚨ATHLETES/PARENTS🚨 Most athletes are D2/D3. Accept that earlier. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS! Keep striving and working for D1 for sure if that is your dream… But do not EVER close the door on other options… especially if there is any form of uncertainty.

@MikeCunningham Goes both ways. Can’t tell you how many emails I’ve sent high school coaches in the last 2 years that have gone completely unanswered. I assume it’s cause my school is not a D1 and in the middle of nowhere. But we coach’em up and school is cheap. 🤷‍♂️

🚨ATHLETES🚨 Stop buying spikes because they “look cool” or “they can make you faster”. Get shoes that fit for YOU! And in many cases… most of you SHOULD NOT be wearing Max Flys 🤷🏿‍♂️
