@MikeCunningham Coaches need to stop putting kids in throws just because they’re “big” and not as “athletic”. Throwers need to be able to move fast just like every event.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been working with our football team to develop their speed and running mechanics. One of the linemen walked up to me today during the workout this morning and said, "You're my favorite coach". Well if that doesn't just get your morning going good, I don't know what does. What an honor.

Best thing a coach can do to maintain sanity when dealing with athletes who have poor commitment is to focus on what you can control and show up for those who show up. Remove those who don't. Let the standard be the standard and don't bend on it.
