Blake Butera is making all the right chess moves for the @Nationals, who are the only team with over 300 runs scored this season! ♟️

Jacob Young had 5 HRs in 1000+ plate appearances over the last 3 years. He’s got 7 through 184 PAs this season. His launch angle sweet spot has gone from the 3rd percentile last year to the 81st percentile this year. This staff is working wonders.

In the past decade, UNC (25 years), Maryland (42 years), Cornell (48 years), and Princeton (25 years) have all ended decades-long title droughts With that, the longest NCAA title droughts now belong....to the two teams with the most titles. Cuse (17 years) and Hopkins (19 years)

@Mikeysurf @College_Crosse Totally agree. Would love to see it at Homewood, but not big enough (Go Hop!). Could this signature event cause Navy to install an alternative turf?

I'm unsure what the critique is here. Maryland, Cuse, UVA, ND, Hop just have bigger fanbases. If the question is what fanbases put together will draw the biggest Final Four crowd, those are it
HoyaSaxa.com@hoyatalk

@College_Crosse This speaks to the selective nature of lacrosse: there are those schools that are “in” and those who are not: Georgetown, Penn State, Rutgers, etc. need not apply.

Cheating on the Nats today. Love me some Camden Yards…such an iconic setting with the Warehouse in right field. Great seats @LaceeGriffith! Thank you @wbaltv11!

If you are going to do a college venue again in the future, finding one that is very proximate to a major metropolitan area is the right move. And of course, obviously they have to want to do it College Park is very close to DC, Ga Tech is right in ATL, BC very close to Boston

@andypollin1 As a kid in Gaithersburg in the early ‘70’s, most of our shopping was at Montgomery Mall or Wheaton Plaza.

So many choices these days. In the early 70’s, we went to Sportscenter (actually the name) in Wheaton Plaza. Choices were Adidas Suoerstar if you were a real hooper or Chick Taylors for the rest of us. Two colors-white or black. They were 10 bucks

Lousy weather in DC, took my little guy to the mall to get some new hoop shoes. Took me back to Irving’s Sports with my pop getting my first Dr. J’s. I was over the moon. Reminded me that we do so much on line because of convenience, but the feeling for a kid to be in a store full of sneakers and getting to pick one is HIGH on the list of kid feelings.

53 games in, I’m struck by how competitive & entertaining this Nats team is so far. The offense is potent & exciting, contributions come from all 26 guys, and when series are tied/lost, it often feels like it barely slipped away. Hope you’re enjoying watching, just like we are!

@notthefakeSVP Scott, thanks for the memories! As a kid in Gaithersburg, prior to Lakeforest Mall, a trip to Congressional Plaza and Irving’s was everything!
