@eno196037 @NeverteIImeodd I counted 7 others that seemed to be able to cross without issue, and without entering the gated area for that matter... Is "right of way" some mystical spell that protects you from injury/death if you lose a contest of mass with something else?

Im curious why people only ever seem to look at it as something to replace something else. Photoshop and other digital tools didn't replace painters, sculptors, etc. Yes, there is "AI slop", which is believe is where a lot of the stigma stems from (and is rightfully directed at), the low effort mass produced "works". I believe that becomes misplaced, when it spills over to those who utilize AI as a tool alongside their own skills and actually put in effort by adapting and adopting it into what they create.

@Sour_Citizen It would actually stand to benefit me a lot if it improved. If I really wanted to, I could replace all the artists I pay a lot of money for, with AI. But I don't. I put my money where my mouth is, and hire real artists.

Some people have called me "performative" for being against the use of AI art and animation. I'm the CEO of an art studio, and I'd stand to save a lot of money if I just replaced every artist with AI. And yet, I don't. Because it's the wrong thing to do. I believe it's healthier for the industry and for our company to preserve the sanctity of human labour and creativity in lieu of cheap shortcuts. Some say, "Oh, so you'd advocate against cars to preserve horses?" That's a false equivalency. I'd advocate against replacing horses if your alternative to a horse was an AI horse that was faster, but hallucinated roads that don't exist and needed thrice the food. We should seek to preserve human labour in every way we can. Maybe AI has uses in some fields to reduce workloads for professionals, but I do not believe that field should be the world of entertainment and the arts. The purpose of automation should be to lessen the workload for the jobs we do not want to do, to give us all time and resources to focus on pursuing the passions that we love. We shouldn't automate art so we have more time for labour. It is backwards and will lead to a worse world.

That Bouk quote only reinforces what I said... you realize that? Of course there is nothing special about it. It is simply the number that they had when the count was frozen. It could have just as easily been any other number when it occurred and we'd be having these same comments about that number.

"There's nothing at all magical about the number 435 Congress settled on," Bouk adds. In fact, there has been discussion over the decades about expanding the House, which would require Congress to pass a new law. But Bouk notes that the system for automatically redistributing 435 House seats after each census has created "a kind of inertia that makes such changes very unlikely."

Do we know *exactly* what was said between them about the subject? Or is it a he says she says thing. Past that, ironically, trying to force the game to fail is more likely to put artists out of a job than the use of AI. By all means, call out actual ai slop for being ai slop... but dont turn the matter, effectively, into an avalanche of genetic fallacies and trash everything just for even the slightest association with AI usage.

@FiadhBaikal She only agreed to the project because the devs agreed to not use generative AI. The devs were then caught using generative AI assets At the very leaat it was a breach of trust and likely breach of contract. She had every right to then terminate contract.

This.. this has to be a joke right??? 1. This doesn't affect her job whatsoever, she can still hire artists and she herself is not an artist. 2. People LOVE self checkouts, and use it A LOT. Never seen anyone complain about it. 3. She sounds entitled because the artists in the game itself were okay to use AI, they didn't give two craps about it. They cut corners on the most unimportant parts of the game so they can work on the important stuff and put all their effort on important stuff The AI was temporary assets. I see NO ISSUE in using AI as temp assets. Everyone is blowing it out of proportion.

I think when push comes to shove, people WILL care more about AI issues that directly affect their own lives over everything else.. Ironmouse is a VTuber that LOVES art… So of course she’s going to care about art and generative AI affecting creatives. The same way that If someone works in a restaurant, they’re probably going to care more about automation, self-checkouts, AI robots replacing service jobs etc . We are HUMAN and we can’t give equal emotional energy to every issue every minute of the day!!! I’m seeing so many ppl say Ironmouse is entitled and thinks “she’s above everyone else” because she cares about gen AI..? Like no shit she’s allowed to feel strongly about something directly affecting her industry You would too mf 🫵

So, 11,416 representatives? Even though that 1 per 30,000 is a constitutional maximum ratio. So, 1 per 500,000 is still within that, but 1 per 20,000 would not. Its already not a permanent government job, by nature of people being able to elect a representative in place of one they dislike. Should there be term limits? Maybe. I have separate complaints about the compensation that representatives/senators receive. Though that just derails further from the election topic. PS: The 435 number wasn't exactly "made up". Its just the how many there were at the time.

OR How about we just unbreak the system that was broken in 1929? The House of Representatives should be 1 member per 30,000 people, and should grow every year to meet that number. In 1929 they decided that it shouldn't grow anymore and even then agreed that the 435 number was just made up. Now, to do this we need to make being a member of the House not be a permanent government job with permanent government benefits... that were also added after the founding. When working there should be compensation, but when not working they shouldn't get anything... as per how it was founded.

@foundmykey @LASHYBILLS Worth noting that what the camera can see isn't exactly what the driver can see. That said, the white car coming to a complete stop was stupid, even in this situation. Decelerate and return to the lane you were departing, not come to a sudden stop across 2 lanes.

In the past I'd wondered how a hypothetical Electoral Vote system that more directly reflected the structure of the government might do. Its not fully the Electoral College and not fully a Popular Vote, and doesn't allow the "winner take all" that affects votes on both sides for different states. Each state has 1 electoral vote for each member in the House of Representatives and 2 Senators. Have each Representative-based electoral vote be allocated by how the population of the state voted. Each Senator-based electoral vote allocated by the "popular vote" of the state. Using 2024 for examples: CA (instead of 54 to Kamala) would be 31 to Kamala, 19 to Trump. TX (instead of 40 to Trump) would be 16 to Kamala, 23 to Trump. Though, likely never going to happen and no one is going to try to be the one to make legitimate changes. They'd rather perpetuate this fake whiny concern trolling bs forever so long as it gets them "points" in the the eyes of their supporters.

Writer before AI is still writer after AI. That hyperfixation just on whether AI being used is exactly the issue with what was said and how it was said. There is no consideration for the level of effort put in, relevant skills/experience one may have thats is may still be utilized for any resulting work, etc.

We already appealed it and it was rejected which is why I made a post about it. Imagine if I were a smaller content creator, I would just be SOL. This is wrong, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it... and it targets smaller content creators even harder. This kind of bot response, isn't even effective in achieving any sort of result... as the ambiguous rulings do not give people the information that they need to actually change behavior to be in line with your policies. Its unfair and tyrannical and creates unease in the lives of the creators you CLAIM to care about.

@TeamYouTube you've removed and given a strike on one of my recent videos due to "Harassment and Cyberbullying Policy", which according to you is and I quote: "Content that targets someone with prolonged insults or slurs based on their intrinsic attributes. This includes, but is not limited to, content that's uploaded with the intent to shame, deceive or insult a minor." The minor in question, and the video in question: Is where @SimoneHCollins plays with his kids and in one instance calls them "little bastards" as an affectionate nick name. Policing how parents express love to their children (what was obviously happening in the scene) feels deeply dystopian. Many of us have memories of being called things like "little monsters" with affection... and trying to re-fame that as abuse is ghoulish. I hope this was just some kind of mistake, or an action by an over zealous moderator. If this is indeed against the rules, please tell us plainly that you think this kind of endearing moment is too far for your policies. (Clip attached with permission)

You're still not comprehending that if I were to vote blue for the reasons that you are suggesting, then it could only be for the sake of those other random strangers. This is because the people that I have ties to and care about are of an age and understanding to know that pushing blue is the only option that carries any risk at all. And for the sake of those we know and care about, why would we leave it to chance? You are looking for absolute altruism and utilitarianism from someone who is not altruistic to that extent and is not a utilitarian.

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Did you forget your original statement? "It's not a risk for every single person, all you have to know is that there is a likelihood that someone you love will push blue" Your own rebuttal was about me stating that it is "an unnecessary risk to put your own life on the line for the sake of every single random stranger". In dodging my question, you jumped ship to include "2 year olds / infants" and whether they could be convinced. Yet, there are no 2 year olds / infants within the set of **people that I know and love**. Beyond that, you're going further to explicitly state "all children". Which brings us back to "put your own life on the line for the sake of every single random stranger", which you already know my stance on. Your rebuttal boils down to "But its not about risking your life for every random stranger, just the people you love and every random stranger". If anything, you slipped by thinking you could win me over on some blind sympathy crap towards any and all individuals that have nothing to do with me.

I'll wait for you to explain how/why convincing the people I know and love to push Red is not an option but you convincing others to push Blue is an option. Its a double-standard that must be resolved, and I could just as well ask "How are you going to convince 2 year olds/infants to push blue?" They don't know better one way or the other and its a rather absurd way for you to try and dodge.

@Lormif1 @MrFraische @recmo @waitbutwhy There is, likewise, no guarantee that *Everyone* surviving (as seen in the blue option) is a good thing. Its an unnecessary risk to put your own life on the line for the sake of every single random stranger out there. Altruism is good, but it has and needs limitations.
