If my experience yesterday in organising a purchase through click and collect from @pcworld is anything to go by, the clunckiness means @amazon will continue to win. British businesses must rise to the competition and challenges, Covid or no Covid.

The mantra is if it’s not plastic it must be better (ironically PLA is still a plastic ) . It’s far more complex than HFW and Anita Rani portray. #waronplastics

Alternatively, you could pop it into your home composter, however, our UK climate means it can take a bit longer to break down

@PGtips @YorkshireTea @tetleyuk @TwiningsUK Sadly your teabags don’t naturally biodegrade and can only be called biodegradable because one process works a process not widely available to kerbside recycling. When left PLA acts like all other plastics and breaks down into small and smaller per pieces over centuries

@itsanitarani @ErskineCGarden @HughFW Totally agree loose leaf tea is far better. We stopped selling tea bags years ago because of bleach and plastics contamination. I’m surprised your didn’t say more about PLA. This is not a good product! You should look into it more, DM me if you want a heads up on it

@jensjacks @nlz2977 I regret to say, teabags mostly consist of socalled tea dust and milled twigs etc.

I only use loose tea and it has to be made in the traditional way, with a warmed teapot.
