החולשה מאפשרת truncation של נתונים שמוביל ל־buffer overflow, משם הצלחתי לגרום למספר קריסות SIGSEGV של תהליכי nginx יחד עם core dumps. בניתוח ה־core dump יכולתי לראות corruption של הזיכרון, כולל הופעה של חלקים מהpayload שלי בתוך הרגיסטרים מה שמוכיח שניתן להשיג heap corruption בצורה יציבה ואמינה. כרגע ה־PoC של DepthFirst מגיע ל־RCE רק בסביבת ה־Docker שלהם, בגלל תלות ב־memory layout ואופציות קומפילציה מאוד ספציפיות של nginx.
