You have to wonder if Brandon Aiyuk’s agent Ryan Williams has any sour feelings toward the 49ers … and, if so, it’s worth noting that he also represents Brian Robinson Jr.

@ryanghensley I agree but I don’t think they’re doing this to be petty …I think they are trying to see if they can get something for him, and if there’s a possibility they can there is no reason to rush to release him.

Professional franchises should never be petty to players. They are supposed to demonstrate professionalism if it’s what they expect in return and want to attract players.

@samesfandiari Man this is really an underrated aspect of the JK situation…he has never been able to stay consistently healthy especially WHEN the opportunities to PLAY were presented to him…pretty sure it’s happened in almost every season he played for the dubs…

The Mike Evans signing isn’t just about what Mike Evans can do catching balls. His presence is going to have a ripple effect. Consider this: 1. Cowing and Watkins (and any new rookies on the PS) are now going to be mentored by a HOF-level wideout. 2. Pearsall will no longer be forced into the X. He’s going to get the Z, which is where he has greater effectiveness. 3. Evans will draw frequent double coverage from DBs, which places more severe pressure on LBs to try to cover Kittle, CMC, and/or a third receiver alone. 4. Defenses will no longer be able to cheat safeties up into the box to stop the run, because they can’t give up the back end with Evans out there. It’s not just, “Evans is a great pass catcher.” It’s that Evans now completely disrupts what defenses have been doing to the 49ers the last couple years, which was: take advantage of their reduced WR threats deeper down the field. Evans is a force multiplier. If this offense can stay healthy and they can get the O-line squared away, (and maybe get ahold of one more plug-and-play guy in the WR room), opposing defenses are going to be absolutely screwed.
