The average American moderate conservative and the independents that put Trump in office have moved on from The Daily Wire and FOX News, and would rather listen to actual crackpots and bigots than the establishment conservative media gaslight them.

Matt, the only reason this movement is talking about itself is because many commentators have refused to simply say that others, like Candace and Tucker, are no longer representative of the movement and move on. Instead, they have decided it's not their place, and let the problem grow worse and worse. (You are one of those commentators who have consistently refused to set those boundaries.) So, the movement is talking about itself, to make that separation distinct. Because if it doesn't, the movement dies.

The conservative commentariat now spends most of its time talking to itself about itself. It is increasingly divorced from the issues that impact actual Americans. It can’t even pretend to care anymore. I’m disgusted by the whole thing at this point. All I can say is that on my show we do researched deep dives every single day into the actual issues, including the stuff that the news cycle ignores. We will continue to do that. I’m not getting sucked into this black hole of bullshit. I didn’t sign up to star in a soap opera. No interest.
