Sunday Sneaky Severe Weather Threat: Weather models are hinting at a conditional severe weather threat for Sunday Afternoon. We are not currently highlighted in a severe risk by the Storm Prediction Center. Some surface based instability will likely develop by the afternoon, but there will be a weak cap in the atmosphere. With not much of any forcing mechanism to ‘trigger’ storms, there remains high uncertainty if anything will develop. If the cap can be broken, isolated storms will develop. Otherwise, nothing will happen. In the event the cap breaks and isolated storms form in the area, they will pose an all hazards threat. A brief tornado or two is possible, along with damaging winds up to 60 MPH and quarter sized hail. Any storm that develops will likely be short lived due to poor upper level shear, making any storm coverage isolated at best and lowering the ceiling of any severe threat.

Light rain will move in from the west, with the steadiest rain overnight. This rain will be done by 5am. 0.10" or less in most areas. It will stay windy this evening with the wind settling down by morning.

Our next potentially major severe weather event will be Thursday, uncertainty is high. We are currently in a Level 2 of 5 severe risk with a level 1 of 2 significant risk hatching. Uncertainty is high due to questions about the degree of recovery in the environment after morning showers/storms which could ruin the environment for later in the day. That being said, if the environment does recover properly, supercells and clusters of storms will be likely capable of all hazards including strong tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center notes the risk will likely need to be upgraded if/when certainty increases.

9pm CT: There Is a 60% chance that a severe thunderstorm watch will be issued in the blue outlined area. It will be up to the local National Weather Service office in Sullivan to decide if any of our Wisconsin counties will be included or if it will stay in Illinois. Regardless, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in Northwest Illinois for hail and that’s going to be the primary threat overnight. That storm crossing into Illinois has the potential for 60 mph winds and hail up to half dollar size and it’s moving east at 50 mph.

Last last night received messages from 2 different sources that Cam Boozer stated (most likely to his teammates) that he wants to return to Duke. Checked with a very reliable source today that tells me, he was told the same thing & that he believes it to be true. I'm also told,
