「馬を食べる」っていうのはアメリカ人にとってはかなり衝撃的なことらしいね。
昔勤めていた会社にアメリカ人の同僚が居たんだけど、その人や他の数人と一緒に居酒屋に行った時に馬刺しが出てきて、「これは何の肉？」って聞かれたから「馬の肉だよ、馬の刺身」って答えたら泣いちゃった…
周りの人達はみんな驚いて詳しく聞いたら、馬は友達や家族のようなもので、食べる為に神様が作った家畜とは違う存在って言ってた。
「神様が作った」というのはよく分からない区分だけど、日本人の感覚に例えると、犬や猫を調理したものを目の前に出された感覚に近いのかな？となんとなく理解した。
確かに韓国で犬料理を、中国で猫料理を出されたら私も泣いてしまうかもしれないな……と神妙な顔をしながら、彼の分の馬刺しは日本人が代わりに責任持っていただきました。

@ichimaru_novel Remember that the sauce that permeates it is reddish, and there are nitrates. So it's more well done than it seems. By the same token, don't worry if the outside seems dark in color. It's not burnt, that's a crust of seasonings and fat called the bark.

@roikfbuwgc254 Now, if you don't have the outdoor space for a little smokey joe Weber grill, there's a way to impart the smoke flavor if all you have is an oven; Liquid Smoke. It's literally water that's had wood smoke bubbled through and it captures most of the flavor.
