She was taken to the Wild Animals Rescue Center for rehabilitation, but in January 2024, during a Russian attack, missile fragments fell near her enclosure. Due to the explosion, the lioness suffered a severe concussion and lost coordination of movement. Ukrainian veterinarians were able to stabilize the animal's condition and reteach her to walk. After recovery, Yuna was transported to the British sanctuary The Big Cat Sanctuary. Now she has fully recovered, is active, and lives in safety without explosions. She was not only able to recover, but also finally learned how pleasant it is to feel the grass under her paws and how it's possible to live differently: without fear, without pain, in peace and safety — noted at the Wild Animals Rescue Center.
