If a trade war is better for the US, the US economy, and US national security, long term, then I do not care how it affects the global economy, as long as any overall efficiencies lost balance in our favor, with the costs being passed along to other nations. Trade restrictions and tariffs do tend to be less efficient than unrestricted trade, when taken in aggregate across the entire system, but they can be of benefit to a single player, at the expense of the rest. I have no problem with this. I also fully support doing *whatever* is required to prevent any nation that doesn't already have nukes from ever acquiring them. In Iran, Trump is only doing what Carter should have done 47 years ago when they first took the hostages. My only criticism so far is that we shouldn't have declared a cease fire.
