Props to JMU for losing by less than Tennessee and SMU did in last year's first round.

@CardChronicle agree and the cost for our tickets should be reduced as well, instead of taking their money, they will add to our bill, Boo!

Not pushing Georgia for buyout money seems like an error in judgment, even if it had eliminated the possibility of playing a neutral site game “some point down the road.”

Notre Dame wins 10 straight games by an average of 29.3 points and we're not supposed to be impressed. In what world? 10 straight is always impressive. It's really impressive when you do it by four touchdowns.

"We overcame those two opening losses, we rallied, we dominated in those last 10 games. We can't imagine taking the field not as that team... you know that certain players wouldn't participate in that game." – Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua on not participating in a bowl game.

Bowl games not affiliated with the CFB playoff are destined to become the Pro Bowl (extinct). Why are we acting like these young men should sign up for an exhibition game that puts them at risk and benefits EVERYONE but them? We don’t do that in the NFL, FCS, DII or DIII, but we draw the line with D1 FBS. If teams want to play, play if they don’t, why judge? Unless you have your own selfish motives…

Steve Sarkisian on the effect ND opting out of its bowl game can have on college football: "I don't know about the ripple effect for everybody. We all have goals and aspirations of winning conference championships and winning national championships, at least we do. But I also think there's an experience factor in all this, there's a growth in all this. There's development in all this. There's camaraderie. There's so much that goes into this that sometimes a bowl game is about celebrating a season and finishing a season the right way."
