Bungie gives us the best extraction game to date, one of the best art directions in a MP game ever, insanely tight gunplay and amazing end-game maps. Everyone who plays Marathon is having fun.

@CoolRunnersClub Just because something has been successful, doesn't mean it will continue to be. They may survive, but the point is that if these two game are failing, they cannot continue paying that many devs. They will need a new influx of cash to do that. Currently, unsustainable

@TheMoonglowin @itzTizzleYT Just look at every single error code. They all blame us. They make post on here about server issues, but the error codes still say it is our problem. Zero accountability for anything. It's basically just gaslighting us lol. I hate what's happened to the game, but they did this.

Bungie has some braindead decision makers. I’d love to meet the guy obsessed with timegating. As a shift worker, I have been against this shit since about 2019 (when I started playing D2 a lot)

I get the loop of. Gear up during the week then doing Cryo/Ranked on the weekend. We will see how it plays out but having two modes be timed exclusive might not feel great. Big WE WILL SEE moment

@itzTizzleYT It's the same company that thought the Portal in Destiny 2 was a great idea despite them previously scrapping it before Destiny 1 even came out because their playtests showed that players absolutely hated it. They constantly do dumb shit because they think they are geniuses.

@luadev_ @ShadowXLaw1 I would also add, that devs can tend to lean on content creators to help flesh out their games to the player base. Destiny 2 for example. One of the worst new player experiences out there. If you don't go online, you will miss so much. Even bugs and news are all on X, not in game

@algorithm427 @DSR_Joker Because the only thing that matters for these companies, is return on investment. If they don't get the return they expect, then layoffs happen, and games shut down. Which means you won't be enjoying said game.

But when you look at Marathon, objectively.
It's a game Bungie spent the better part of a decade working on, (to the determent of D2), and what we got was a few maps, and a hand full of shells, some weapon, and $10-$20 Shaders.

Call me a Bungie schill, I don't mind. But if @MarathonTheGame is any indication of what Bungie is now capable of doing and the incredible things they can create, I have a strong suspicion that we're in for something good with Destiny 2 in the future that's worth the wait.

Bungie cancels two planned talks at GDC- Game Developers Conference 2026 that were centered on Marathon.
No official explanation has been given yet.
