@GodMode248 There are plenty of circumstances where a small bet size is appropriate. If the only bet you ever see is pot, it's a very soft PLO game. Of course, I will concede that you'll never see over bets.

PLO bet sizing is not sexy at all. All you are going to see or hear is "POT". No Limit Holdem is more complex despite having 2 less cards.

What can we do to make sure @LodgeCardClubSA doesn't get shut down like @LodgePokerATX did? I'm terrified. Is poker really a crime in Texas? I'm finally starting to figure this game out. Do I need to find a new hobby? Please don't take this from us.

This has been a painful process with @LodgePokerClub raid and closure. Ive finally got the green light to put together a video addressing everything and will be putting it together shortly.

I have been given the following UPDATE regarding The Lodge: - No charges have been filed, but the Williamson County DA’s office insists Lodge operated illegally. Lodge denies this. - Lodge attorneys have stated it would be unwise for the club to reopen until this matter is resolved, especially because another seizure could otherwise occur. - Closure is likely to be for months, at minimum. - As a result, they have permanently laid off all staff. Good luck to The Lodge and its owners in this battle against government overreach.

First time making pork fingers in a while. Sometimes I forget how good they are. Does anyone else dream about making a pork forward restaurant some day?

@GodMode248 Post like this make me happy to play in a room where all the tables are match the stack. I don't understand why anyone would want to limit how much someone else is putting on the table.

Playing 2/5/10 1k cap. Asian guy puts 4k on the table. I'm not caring at all. But someone said it kills the jackpot. Then another player says he wants to put 4k on the table. Again I don't care but some do. You are in a good game when players want to put 4k on the table.

@bethanyjbabcock I couldn't agree more. It drives me crazy to see people complaining, but not taking action. I believe this is the easiest time and place in the history of the world to make money.

There is a certain kind of person that is drowning in resources and opportunity and still complains they don’t have what they need to be successful. That person is a large percentage of healthy young Americans. To be frank, look around. You don’t need anything else. You already won the lottery. That blue passport of yours? Millions would literally do anything for it given the chance. You just got it. You were born here. This country isn’t perfect but I still believe it is the greatest country in the world. If you have grit and a solid work ethic it’s practically inevitable you will find success here regardless of where you started. When I hear the biblical parable of the 5 talents and one servant hiding away the single talent he received because he wasn’t given more, I think of my generation. The talent is unearned opportunity. Buried with a heart full of resentment towards those that have more Such a waste.

losing a hand sometimes means you played it right. doug polk opens KcJs to $1K from the hijack. sb and the straddle call. flop Ac6c2h. doug cbets $1,200, sb calls next to act. turn 7s. doug barrels $4,200. river 7c. flush completes. doug fires $10K into $14K. why? sb just flatted flop next to act, so he should never have a 7 here. his range on the river is basically Ax and flushes, and doug having the Kc makes flushes way less likely. all doug needs to make this bluff profitable is fold out the Ax. sb calls. T7 of hearts. rivered trips when the board paired. doug loses, but his process was still sound. stop judging your play by whether you won the pot.

@clayhepler What state are you in? In some states, you don't need earnest money to satisfy the consideration requirement for contract enforceability.

A friend called me Friday. Frantic. He had a deal worth $450K in net profit. The seller backed out on the day of closing. He had specific performance in the contract. But no earnest money. $1 of earnest money would have made that contract enforceable. $450,000 gone because of $1. Always put earnest money down. Always.

@BetOnDrew The Lodge was literally the last club I thought would have a problem. I play at the SA Lodge specifically because they're the most professionally run club in town. There are plenty of other clubs where actual shenanigans are going on.

I literally get into arguments with people on here that tell me you can NOT find a starter home for under 200K yet here is one of millions of examples. Not everyone gets to live in Miami, NYC or San Diego and that’s ok you’ll live!!

What's stopping you from moving to a tertiary town in the midwest, buying this house and raising a family in it? - Affordable - Plenty of jobs - 1hr from major metro (Cleveland) - Safe neighborhood - Good schools

I am 41 years old and I’ve just now realized this: Rich people who made their fortune in the arts (acting, authors, etc) tend to lean left politically Rich people who made their money in business tend to lean right politically The biggest exception to this this I can think of is Warren Buffet
