Critics are already rushing to protect The Odyssey while audiences are rejecting its forced casting. While the film is sitting at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, the trailers are getting crushed with massive dislike ratios. Greek audiences are particularly furious. Many see the race-swapping of Helen of Troy and other changes as a direct attack on their history and heritage. Comments from Greeks online describe the project as a “parody” and a “big FU” to their culture. The film’s director has said they won’t do “politically correct casting for the sake of ticking boxes.” That stance alone has become controversial in Hollywood circles. This is becoming a clear pattern. When studios prioritize modern identity politics over story and source material, audiences push back hard. Critics can give it glowing reviews, but they can’t force people to like it or silence the backlash. Source: Greek city Times, The Daily Beast Writer: Samuel

@Omis__World @libsoftiktok Also only the prosecutor can charge. And the charge is always murder. And you would say justifiable homicide as your defense. If you have an illegal firearm, they will charge you with the gun crime and murder. It actually makes getting self defense easier.

I wish that were true but possesion of a firearm if you are not supposed to have it (stolen, prior felony, intoxicated, and/or not licensed to concealed) could be argued as the cause of altercation (showing, printing, pointing, brandishinh). At that point prosecutor discretion is risky and could be reason for getting charged with murder. Happens in legal situations all the time, where a clear case of self defense is charged by a prosecutor. Winning a murder charge case is not the same as actual truth which is why most gun owners purchase of legal defense subscriptions.

@Omis__World @libsoftiktok I'm in lawschool now. Possessing an illegal firearm does not effect self-defense. What you are saying is something different. If they want to argue that having the gun shows you are the aggressor, that's fine. But most S/D cases are black, and gang bangers with illegal guns.

Self defense as long as he is carrying legally and was not the aggressor. Fear of great bodily harm is exactly what you feel as you are getting jumped by multiple people. You see flashes of people all round you and feel hits coming from all directions knowing very well you are likley to die or be permanently disabled. You try to cover as much as possible and create distance with swings and kicks but they are all around and you can't escape. You realize if they want to, they will stomp you to death any second so you are surviving at this point. Thankfully he had a weapon and survived the attack.

Odell Beckham Jr. reveals the real math on a $100,000,000 NFL contract: • On paper → $100,000,000 • Actually guaranteed → $60,000,000 • After taxes → $12,000,000/yr • Car, house for mom, living → $4,000,000/yr • What’s left → $8,000,000/yr • Five years. Then it’s over. Forever “Can you make that last forever?”

Hollywood should be studying ROI as much as raw box office. Obsession: $750k budget → $427M worldwide (600x return) Backrooms: $10m budget → $363M worldwide (36x return) Meanwhile: Supergirl: $250m budget → $110M worldwide (so far but declining) Numbers don’t lie. It’s not about how much money you spend or which major celebrities you have in movies. Tell good stories and entertain.

>80% of rapes - more than 4 in 5 - are committed by men the women already know. Make sure you spend your time with quality, moral people, and your odds of being assaulted in this horrible way virtually disappear. Prevention is everything.

@megynkelly I love your show, but I don't think you correctly identify the defense of Roberson. No one questions that he was there. The rife recovered didn't kill Kirk, the wound wasn't from a bullet of that strength. Tons of experts agree on that. That's the defense.

The US men's national soccer team is being subjected to the same kind of legalized plunder that defines too many divorce proceedings in this country. After grinding through qualifiers, earning their spot in the World Cup, and generating the massive FIFA payout that only the men's game can produce ($12.8 million in this case), the players are now forced to hand over a huge chunk of that money to the women's team under the "equal pay" collective bargaining agreement. The women didn't play a single minute of those matches, didn't draw the crowds, didn't sell the tickets, and didn't create the revenue - yet they still get a cut of the men's prize money while the reverse transfer remains a fraction. Yes the women are more successful (having won the Women's World Cup several times) but the prize is much smaller. Why? It reflects differences in global interest, sponsorship, viewership and actual performance. This is all under the guise of "parity" between "equivalent work." But in reality, it's more like subsidizing one program with the output of the other, just like the ex-spouse cashing checks from earnings she didn't generate. "Equal pay" sounds noble until you realize it erases differences in market value, risk, audience draw, and results. It disincentivizes excellence on the men's side (why push harder if your windfall gets redistributed?) and removes pressure on the women's side to grow their own commercial appeal. Like divorce settlements that trap high-earners in perpetual support roles, this policy treats men's soccer as a piggy bank for "fairness," not a business rewarding what fans and sponsors actually value.

@MarioNawfal He listed “immigrant enclaves”. Do you know what the word “immigrant” means or do you not speak the English language? Maybe you need a tutor!

🇺🇸🇮🇹 NYC Mayor Mamdani released a map of The Big Apple's ethnic enclaves, and forgot to include Little Italy. The map, titled "New York City Immigrant Enclaves," highlighted 30 distinct areas across the 5 boroughs. The snub has drawn a lot of heat for Mamdani, from everyday Italian-Americans on X to local politicians. Somehow in the city known for Frank Sinatra, the Mafia, and pizza by-the-slice, its mayor forgot about its Italian heritage. Hard to believe! Source: NY Post / Writer: Michael

Ironically, this is a perfect summary of what the window lickers simply do not understand. It's not just about the race swap, which completely undermines the historical and cultural foundation the story is built on. It's about the modern dialogue, which shatters immersion the moment you hear a character say "dad" instead of "father." It's about some of the outfits looking like they belong in Star Wars rather than ancient Greece. It's about Agamemnon wearing what looks like a recycled Batman helmet. And it's about the fact that, given Christopher Nolan's reputation and influence in Hollywood, he had the opportunity to genuinely honour Greek history and culture by casting at least some Greek actors in major roles. Instead, Nolan chose to capitulate to the lazy, predictable Hollywood hive mind.
The Gas Stove 🔥@TheGasStovee

Just finished watching the Odyssey movie. It's as bad as you think. The music is great, all the actors delivered Oscar worthy performances. The way Nolan depicted Ulysses traumatic experience deserves an Oscar. However, he raceswapped a woman for 20 sec. Hence, the movie is trash

@SStricklandMMA The chosen people are The Jewish people, but that is actually today's Christians. The people who call themselves Jewish today are not the Jewish people of the Bible, those Jewish people followed The Messiah.

@Lord_Talbot64 It's genetic. In the wild you would rape and pillage. The stronger culture would take the women and "absorb" them in. To survive, women adapted that trait.
