@MissouriMTG Paying $50 for prerelease of a standard set is where I hit my limit. Pretty rough cost for 6 packs +winning packs and potential for rough games or uninspiring pulls When the cards don't matter, it's easier to just play limited online I guess

@RGIII 1. BRUTAL schedule by NFL again (not opponents but mult teams off bye & other weeks of having less prep time) 2. Injuries - lack of rest time (see 1) + extra prior games (Super Bowl) = incr injury risk 3. Continued loss of coaches. Numerous over past 3+ yrs 4. Bad ST play

Dear football fans, this is a safe space. What do you think is wrong with the San Francisco 49ers? I’ll start. The 49ers have lost their Aura and have become mistake merchants this year. Here are the 3 reasons why: 1) Brandon Aiyuk’s offseason negotiations threw off the chemistry of the team. Not because he was at fault for getting his money, but because the organization let it drag out all offseason and into training camp. His injury, CMC and Trent Williams being out has hurt the multiplicity that has made the 49ers so dangerous with Kyle Shanahan at the helm. Having the ability to run their entire offense from 5 different personnel groupings with the same skill guys on the field who can all play WR, RB, FB, TE and slot receiver was a weapon no other team could replicate. They no longer have that capability. 2) The 49ers aren’t protecting the ball AT ALL. 27th in giveaways and 20th in turnover margin. Kyle’s offense is more predicated on ball control than most other systems. When you turn the ball over in any offense it’s detrimental, but in Kyle’s system it’s diabolical because his mindset and play calling is not built to come from behind. Hence his infamous 0-30 record when down 8+ points going into the 4th quarter as Head Coach that was broken just this January. 3) What has always been the saving grace for the 49ers isn’t the Avengers on offense, but the strength of its defense. This year the defense isn’t playing inspired football. All over the tape you see lack of effort and bad body language. It’s why they are the 25th ranked defense and 19th against the run. Protecting the football and playing great defense is a winning recipe for any team. The 49ers were doing that with the Avengers on offense which is why they were so dominant. Now the Avengers have been broken up due to injuries this year, the 49ers aren’t protecting the ball which has aided in making their defense more vulnerable and the 49ers are in a tough spot on what to do next. They have to finish this year strong without CMC and Aiyuk, figure out how much to pay Brock Purdy and still be able to build another set of Avengers around him and they have to rebuild their identity on the defensive side of the ball with play calling and personnel. This is why you don’t let the Aiyuk negotiations linger in the offseason. You get the business done early so the full focus of the team is on the season and not on distractions regardless of who was at fault for the extended negotiations. The 49ers were distracted all offseason and now they are paying for those negative vibes during the year. No one is scared to play the 49ers right now. They can still turn things around, but getting their Aura back without Aiyuk, CMC and Trent Williams for the time being will be inherently more difficult.

My family is growing from two to three this week. I must focus on being the best father I can be for my kids. They are my everything, and under no circumstance should time with them be a sacrifice I make; Magic gets in the way of that. They are my future, but this isn’t goodbye.

One of the most unique feelings of my life happened at MagicCon Chicago. I realized unequivocally my 27 year path with Magic must come to an end, and I’m at peace with this. Thank you for everything, Magic: the Gathering. You’ve always been everything I needed. Until next time.

@Arkodor_p_z @BunnyJoBurton Strong disagreement. Only time it's not on is MAYBE t1 and the sheer amount of colors in pods often make it Command Tower 2. You do you, but Spire requires an artifact and life for colors, so I'll go on a limb and say this fits in more decks. Especially casual ones.

It astounds me that this fraud of a card has continued to maintain its place as a cEDH staple. It was the worst land people were playing back in 2015. How has this card survived Spire of Industry, Battlebond Lands, EZone, Surveil Lands, Channel Lands, MH3 lands, and Canopy lands?

@skys_sports @TheJuiceTDGuy Bit unfair to say he hasn't adapted. He's clearly changed things. He just hasn't adapted to a level you're satisfied, which is understandable Just nutty to see ppl call for a new coach that's consistently had them in the NFC championship despite losing coaches. Not an easy task

@TheJuiceTDGuy What is it that keeps Kyle from adapting? Everyone knows the league evolves on both O & D, why does KS seem to not?

I did a quick google search because I hate myself. Kyle vs Spags. 0-5 Kyle vs Flores. 0-3 Kyle vs Schwartz. 1-8 They all run similar scheme. DCs adapted to beat Kyle’s scheme because basically every team in the league is running it. Kyle has to adapt.

The good: Picked up a win against Mike McDonald, which partially got his hire to stop Kyle and Sean McVay Os and prev led that Ravens D. Flores is a diff style that brings similar problems IMO. @JDofCommander Battered Golem, Grinding Station, and Blasting Station keep us buoyant in blue mana continuously through each orbit. (You can choose your analogy but Unwinding Clock / Intruder Alarm come to mind). Beyond mana and Clock of Omens combos, both Stations provide wincons as well.
