@Sturgeworld Your mistake was offering 8 choices sadly, im not sure how to work your way back to this but the choice should be "please go grab a bowl so we can make breakfast" and he chooses his bowl or even just "please go make your breakfast" if hes at least 7. He can choose for himself

@RogersHistory I love teaching, but 'being a teacher' is mostly just mentally draining and soul destroying nowadays

Just seen a tiktok of a teacher calling out other teachers for being "negative" about teaching, how could you not love it? he asks..... He's been teaching for one term as an ECT. As so many leave or continue to wish to leave teaching, it's more important than ever that there is openness, realism and listening. Not toxic positivity or shaming teachers for feeling how they are feeling and sharing that. Surely, that's how change can happen?

Help me out: I need a highly specific, aggressively masculine name for a tiny Chihuahua puppy. Nothing cute. I'm desperate.

Question for other parents: How are you explaining Santa getting into the house to drop off the presents if you don't have a chimney? Have been under tough cross examination by the 7 year old.

@RogersHistory Ive handed my notice in twice when it was frowned upon. Once being End of May half term on the last day having had an interview the day before for a 6k promotion. And then end of the year (July) and officially should have had to wait until January to leave (6 months notice!)

@dissproportion i know i shouldn’t care, but if i did this she’d spend the next 3 months telling everyone about how im so overwhelmed as a mom and struggling to just take care of my one baby and how she doesn’t know how ill ever have more kids if i can’t even handle one.

been at my parents’ house for 12 hours and my mom has already suggested putting the baby down for his nap and then condescendingly said “first baby” when we said that he wakes up immediately unless we do contact naps. i don’t wanna start an argument, but i also wanna make her stop. any legitimately polite ways to shut this down?

Just popped to the supermarket & only needed 3 items but I still refuse to use the self-serve checkouts. I’d rather speak to a human being rather than a machine. Does anyone else feel like this?

@CrazyVibes_1 Sounds like you have the perfect partnership, you're trusting and kind, and your cleaner is honest, humble and effective. Not sure about the grumpy bf

I have a cleaning lady who comes to my house every other week. She's super hardworking, really nice, and I completely trust her. She comes while I'm at work and I get to come home to a clean house! the best feeling. One time she told me she drank a can of Pepsi from my fridge and even asked if she should pay me back. I told her she has my permission to take a break and eat/ drink whatever she needs while she's there. Since then she'll occasionally have a pop, a glass of juice, once she said she had a piece of toast. She's never helped herself to any meals, snacks, or anything beyond that. My bf was over the other night and said he saw my cleaning lady "stealing from the fridge." I told him she wasn't stealing lol she has my permission, and she's definitely not sitting around being lazy. She was taking a break! My bf said it's weird, unprofessional, and that it could lead to boundary crossing. I told him I've known this woman for two years and nothing like that has ever happened. My bf thinks I should fire her before it gets WORSE. I don't understand HIS logic. Am I wrong for thinking: like why change something that's been working perfectly fine? Am I being weird?
