Annual reminder: prior to 2020 the belief was that most respiratory infections were spread by people with overt symptoms.
So instead of “wear a mask,” public health advice was “stay home / isolate when feeling sick.”
(It presumed most people would/ could actually isolate)

That no one intervened (where was security?!) is awful but then no one seemed to even notice! How could he stay? Accept the award? Stunning to watch, just all of it.

My column would avoid moral absolutes about resorting to violence and observe that a commoner who hit Rock under exactly the same provocation would have to reckon with security, the cops, the DA, his employer, and if he had any money a civil suit as the costs of his choice.
