@VinDeStefano1 @adarraghbills @YardsPerPass @GlassMike11872 Wait, who are these “elite targets” you speak of? Odunze, Burden and Loveland all may turn into elite players but none of them were that last year (I guess there were flashes of good play from Rome early in the season and Loveland late). Moore should’ve outpaced these guys easily

I like the DJ Moore trade. I don’t love it. I don’t hate it. I’m somewhere in the middle. I’m sorry this isn’t some scorching hot take, I just feel like the pros slightly outweigh the cons.

@mve1134 @Matt_Bove He played the most snaps and still didn’t have the most targets? You’re kind of negating your own point

@JFineHour @Matt_Bove Odonze missed 5 games and had 5 more targets. What planet are you on? Loveland had just 3 less targets than moore. He's going to have 90+ catches and 120+ targets here.

@Matt_Bove You would have loved it 2 years ago. He just got buried on the depth chart behind the gms 2 top 10 picks. We got some sexy value

@LowBuffa I mean, he drafted a WR in round 1 in 2024, drafted a TE in round 1 in 2023, paid Joshua palmer $18m last offseason. I guess im not saying he’s done nothing, im saying whatever he does has been bad.

@JFineHour You’re arguing against what he has done. Fine. That’s not the same as saying he’s done nothing tho.

You don’t get to complain about both: 1️⃣”Beane doesn’t do anything to get Josh weapons” 2️⃣”Beane overpaid for Moore” Have a little intellectual consistency.

On second thought, my guess is that Chicago didn't automatically build in the option to restructure contracts like Buffalo does, so we had to ask them for permission to restructure: "If you want to drop my 2026 cap hit to $6.7M, we want you to guarantee 60% of the 2028 salary"
Mike Goettelman@mgoettelman

@GregTompsett What is Buffalo's incentive for guranteeing future years at this point?

@Mike_Bundt Moore was not embracing that. Multiple instances of him giving up on routes last year on tape. And we’re two years out from him having a 1k season. That’s a significant amount of time for a receiver I understand they took a shot on a legit weapon… but they overpaid

The Bears were embracing and everyone eats mentality last year and spread the ball around. Moore will instantly becomes the Bills top option. He's 29 and a year removed from a 1,000 yard season. There's a limited amount of legitimate weapons available and the Bills took a chance on Moore.

There's a lot of people on this app that beg for one thing and then complain the moment it actually happens. Quite interesting keeping tabs on!

@Mike_Bundt Who are we bidding against? Feels like DJ Moore was a cut candidate before this with that contract. Chicago fans are celebrating after watching him average 825 yards a year over the past 2 seasons and getting a 2nd round pick for him. Beane can’t be afraid to say no and walk away

What should the Bills have given up for DJ Moore? It takes two to tango? AJ Brown would've been costly. Mike Evans would've cost $20 million. Pierce $25+ million. Shaheed and Doubs are mid. We can't say be aggressive and then instantly complain because they gave up slightly more than we expected.

@JohnHya90506855 @danfetes That’s not how this works haha. If you drafted a 29 year old wide receiver in the 2nd round, you’d be fired

@danfetes Idk seems like a pretty fair deal If you drafted a guy in the second round and he became dj Moore you’d say great pick

@YardsPerPass I think they were a very good offense this past season, without that. Having Josh Allen will do that. I think the issue is, we need a guy who can get open in critical situations. I don’t think Doubs is the fix for that, but again, would love to have him as WR2

@JFineHour I think they can be a very good offense without a true do it all #1 as long as the other guys aren't WR3/WR4/WR5 type guys, which is what a lot of them are tbh

My Bills WR plan is Doubs and then Brenen Thompson, lets you use your 1st rounder on a defender X receiver and field stretcher get solved

@YardsPerPass I agree with that. I think Doubs is a good player, but I also think that we need a legit WR1. I dont think Doubs and a pure speed guy is the fix we need for the WR room. I think that leaves us in a similar spot we’ve been for the past two years

@TaReyDill32 @YardsPerPass Sure, I agree. I think he’s a good player. I just think he’s a good WR2/3 who would pair well with Shakir and an alpha WR1. Just seems like in this plan, we’re missing that WR1 that makes it all work.

@JFineHour @YardsPerPass Yea he lead them in snaps because the was only one always healthy. Even when everyone else played he rarely missed games so had a better overall rapport with Love. But that being said he’s still better than Palmer.

@TaReyDill32 @YardsPerPass Green Bay ranks ahead of us in Pass Rate over expectation in both Neutral situations and overall. And even when all receivers were healthy, Doubs led the team in snap share on a game by game basis (with some exceptions, of course. Few games where Christian Watson led)

@JFineHour @YardsPerPass It’s how GB has run their offense. They’ve been a run heavy team last couple of years cuz their other WRs are always hurt.

@YardsPerPass Based on what? Never more than 724 yards or 96 targets. And it’s not for a lack of playing time, he’s led GB receivers in snaps 2 out of 3 years (only played 12 games in the 3rd and was still 2nd).
