PSG face 0 Ligue Un teams >1770 elo. 7/17 teams are <1600 elo (mid-Championship) Munich face 4 but the other 13/17 are PL relegation standard or MUCH worse Atleti face 2 but the rest are <1770 elo & 15/19 teams are PL relegation std or worse Arsenal face 14 teams >1770 elo.

Said this back in January when we missed countless opportunities to get the lead up to 10-12 points. Ended up being 6 points which is only a two result swing inc a game at their place. So frustrating man.

@kimmoFC This is nonsense. The whole point is to build up a big lead while the enemy is weak. Anything can happen in March/April - lose a couple of big players, few bad results, City find their old form, Big CL ties as distractions etc. There’s no such thing as winning without the stress.

@JackPittBrooke Reflective of an officiating system that is actively removing subjectivity from decision-making. An entirely inconsequential hair pull = clearly categorised red card. A deliberate push resulting in serious injury = not meeting any arbitrary threshold for intervention.

@Bd_irB_ll Barcelona’s system asks defenders be able to read the game and Cubarsi does that superbly, better than Gabriel and Saliba. 181 offsides provoked in La Liga, 82 in the Champions League at 18 years-old. he’s handled Osimhen, Mbappe, etc. without their athleticism.

The other day, trophies were apparently the main measure of a player’s quality and now we’re back to the whole “Darwin Núñez has a Premier League title” argument.
One of my favourite things in fan debates is watching how quickly people switch narratives and framing depending on the player being discussed.
For years, I was told Steven Gerrard’s Ballon d’Or voting performances made him better than Paul Scholes. But now the same fans argue that Sir Bobby Charlton finishing Ballon d’Or winner in 1966 and runner-up in 1967 and 1968 didn't make him worthy of being called the best in the world at that time
When Graeme Souness told Paul Pogba to “put his medals on the table,” Liverpool fans backed it, yet if you apply that same logic in the Scholes vs Gerrard debate, it suddenly gets dismissed.
Last week, people were saying that Mo Salah having more trophies (that he actually contributed to) than Thierry Henry makes him a bigger Premier League legend...air enough. But now Declan Rice winning Player of the Year and a Premier League title apparently gives him no standing in a Gerrard debate (even though my emojis made it pretty obvious I was joking).
