Just a hunch: Jaylen Brown might end up a Hornet. Due to the LaMelo trade, they created a $40M trade exception (the largest in history) and got Naz Reid in return. Jaylen Brown’s contract fits that perfectly.

With Coby White (3 yrs, 74 M) committing to Charlotte -- after McCollum (Atlanta) and Dosunmo (Wolves) committing earlier in week -- there might not be a guard worthy of a full mid-level. (There are plenty - Hardaway, Shamet, Simons etc. - worthy of part of a mid-level.) The Heat, operating under a $209 M hard cap, would have about $11 M of the $15 M mid-level to offer if Wiggins opts in and Powell leaves. The Heat would have all $15 M to offer if Powell leaves and if Wiggins opts out and signs multi-year deal with Heat starting at $26 M (or less) by Monday's deadline for him. Teams can split mid-level among multiple players.

I would be absolutely shocked if Hugo was/is thrown into any Giannis trade offer. The entire organization is all-in on him - Stevens prob the most. They could not be higher on him. I genuinely don’t believe he’s involved. Guess we’ll see.

@TiWindisch Similarly, the Miami Heat are all in on dru smith and there is no way on earth he can be pried away even if his salary is required. A line the Heat cannot cross! While Dru has certainly showed more in this league than Hugo, Hugo has more years of runway left!

No the question is about what set of assets is long-term best for Milwaukee. A better player able to generate more from trade matters.
A better question:
Jaylen Brown's re-trade value plus Hugo plus whatever or 13, the other ambiguous picks, and whatever Herro can get?
Brown gets more than Herro, Hugo I think has more value than any other Heat player asset (maybe Kas is the exception), 13 has more value than whatever other single pick Boston includes, if they include one.

Here's the question: If the Bucks trade for a player who is really good (say, Jaylen Brown) but not as good as Giannis, and they were under .500 with Giannis playing last season, is the player who is not as good as Giannis (but making almost as much) going to be happy there?

4-5 FRP sounds nice until you realize most of them belong to a team that now has Giannis, Tatum AND Brown. Enjoy picking 30th every other year. It’s a hard no from me
