@DudeWhoInvests TA is a visual representation of the entire markets psychology at play. To say its completely useless is a little wild.

@DudeWhoInvests Useless for who and in what situations? For long term dividend focused investing? Sure. For medium term options plays? Debatable. For intraday scalpers and swing traders? Pretty much every short term trader in the world uses TA.

@JIT_Sniper That’s the issue. The way many of these prop rules are set up incentivize you to trade in a way you wouldn’t with personal money.

Okay, I've officially completed a Topstep speed run. I intentionally wanted to see what constraints a trader is under if they want to pass the eval and get their first payout ASAP. That experience did not feel great. I did NOT trade responsibly. Definitely not the way I would have with my own money (in terms of notional exposure relative to max drawdown). But I got a payout as fast as possible... My takeaways for now: 1) Yeah, props are a great opportunity. You can definitely get a solid "ROI" 2) This isn't trading. It just isn't. It's playing a game that somewhat resembles trading.

@ImreSG What sort of practices and habits should we build as prop traders to make the transition easier in your opinion? Ive always been under the impression that if you can successfully trade props, it would be easier to trade your own capital. But I may be wrong. Only 3 years in this.

I don't know. I think it really depends on what's most important. My hunch is that a lot of traders who have been getting regular payouts on prop accounts will struggle trading if it's their own real money on the line. But that's just a guess I also have no clue how long this window of opportunity will stay open for. Admittedly, I thought that we wouldn't see sim payouts last for as long as they have

For the last month I’ve secretly been motivated af outside of trading Started a few peptides, started taking vitamins everyday, completely changed my diet and started going to gym everyday at 7am This is only 1 month progress Still got a long ways to go

@DodgysDD It looks like you might be gripping a little too firmly with your trigger hand and not tight enough with your support hand. Try the two finger drill when you are comfortable enough.

Here's the last thing I'll say about ICT for now... There are no such things as "ICT concepts". He didn't invent anything or come up with a single original thought. He just went viral. Of course some people make money after watching his videos. But that has extremely little to do with ICT... and EVERYTHING to do with who those traders are as individuals. But you take the % of successful "ICT" traders, you'll realize they're just fat tails... just how people who trade classic price action patterns successfully are fat tails.. same with successful whatever strategy.

We mapped this exact trade out live this morning and here is the live execution video with text explanations mapping the rationale for the trades This video showcases a video I did a while back showing how we use stats and align them with live price / manage risk! I often troll people that talk down on negative RR style trading but tbh I share my executions with everyone here all the time and I very rarely actually position myself in a "negative" less than 1 RR in most trades. The fact of the matter is, I just simply dont trade with RR being the goal for my risk but instead the statistical invalidation. The area on the chart that has the LOWEST objective probability of going to, then I analyze the remaining stats for the day and IF my target is sufficient for my risk, I take the trade. This gives me the freedom to not put alot of pressure on being perfect, and being very process oriented vs outcome oriented. In addition to this you even get to see how I take a loss! Analysis: Out of stat HOD & LOD with all statistics building above price: > Out of stat HOD > Midnight open > P12 mid > Open prices 1-7am The clear trade I would like to put risk behind going into this session is if we come down to make a new in stat LOD at/around market open > break above > take all stats above Trade Ideas: Scenario #1 - New in stat LOD around market open > break above > extended cashflow targets long targeting all the stats above Scenario #2 - We start correcting now and open up the market around P12 mid > I will trade cashflow targets to whatever stats are left Scenario #3 - We make a new in stat LOD > break BELOW market open > stay below market open by 1000 > I will extend my targets lower as we could most likely not be retracing stats above making a ripper to the downside Have a great day and own today.
