Miller and The Bulwark ostensibly represent the center-left of the Democratic coalition. Is there anyone in the center-right sphere openly advocating that Republican politicians go stream with Nick Fuentes or Candace Owens? No, because that would be stupid, alienate normal voters, and do little to win over the small slice of Americans wildly overrepresented on social media who are devoted loyalists of fringe podcasters. Democratic media elites are just so much more radical than Democratic voters—or their counterparts in GOP circles. Even relatively new imports from the NeverTrump world don’t seem interested in appealing to ideological moderates. The only direction they ever seem to move is left.
