“NBA players deal with heckling all the time!” Probably the dumbest defense of I keep hearing of hecklers at golf tournaments re: Rory phonegate. Do you want golf to be more like the NBA? That’s what you want? We can’t have one fanbase that isn’t ruled by drunk morons? Man children who think they are the attraction? Attending sporting events is awful now. It’s full of drunks yelling and cussing and fighting. Golf is supposed to be different. I personally hope it never goes the way of the world, where disrespect is the norm and acting like a moron is the base. We have the Waste Management. That’s like golf’s “purge” day. One event where everyone can be an idiot and I’m all for that. But let’s keep golf different. Also, if you yell “mashed potatoes!” at a golf tournament, you should be sterilized.

That first bit is not what the rulebook says, max was ahead of the apex, thats a fact.
The rulebook is the problem in this case and not max making use of that problem.

Regardless of whether you're on the inside or out, if you're only ahead at the apex / significantly alongside because your excessive speed & trajectory is CLEARLY going to make you understeer outside of track limits - then for me you're in the wrong. Yesterday was a good example of this, why the car on the inside was in the right.
On the contrary, if your speed & trajection is such that you CLEARLY could have remained at least partly within track limits, but your competitor doesn't give you the space to do so - you're in the right. Mexico 24 was a good example of this, why the car on the inside was in the wrong.
Pretty simple distinction imo that should be fairly consistently policable.
That "clearly" word is important of course, it won't always be clear - that'll always be a grey area. But yesterday was absolutely clear as day as far as I'm concerned. 🤷♂️
