Just returned from Batesville & the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration at @LyonCollege. The dining hall was packed. Twelve Lyon students read portions of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech. Music was terrific Judge Marion Humphrey of Little Rock was the guest speaker.

For the January 19, 1987 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday @KATVNews produced a 30 minute documentary "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in Arkansas" narrated by Debra Mathis. It's now a valuable Arkansas historical archive @PryorCenter & has been shown in years past at @ClintonSchool

It was a true honor to celebrate and pay homage to Bethel AME Church at its 162nd anniversary worship service. Birthed out of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, home church to many of the Little Rock Nine and Mrs. Daisy Bates, Bethel continues to be a place of advocacy and love.

Today (October 23) would be the 100th birthday of the late Maurice Mitchell of Little Rock, a noted lawyer and civic leader. It was a privilege knowing him & learning from him.
