I wonder how all the people that rail against “cancel culture” are going to feel about this. I wonder…but I think I know the answer.

Sex Matters keep presenting legal arguments as if they are facts about biology. They aren’t. Law and biology are not the same thing. A court interpreting the word “sex” in a statute is resolving a legal question for a specific purpose. It is not discovering a universal truth about human bodies. It is not rewriting medicine. It is not settling science. This is where their entire argument starts to fall apart. They take narrow legal rulings and inflate them into claims about reality itself. They move from “this is how a law is applied in one context” to “this is what humans are full stop.” That leap is not evidence. It is ideology. Human biology has never been as simple as they pretend. Sex traits include chromosomes, hormones, anatomy, development, and variation. Medicine deals with all of these in practice. Reducing everything to a single fixed category might be rhetorically convenient, but it is not how real bodies or real healthcare work. Gender is not an invention of modern politics either. It is a well-established concept used across psychology, medicine, and social science to describe lived experience and identity. You don’t have to agree with every application of it to recognise that it exists. Sex Matters build their entire position on collapsing these distinctions. They blur law into biology. They flatten complexity into slogans. They present contested views as settled fact. Then they use that framing to influence policy, including lobbying at the Council of Europe around conversion practices that have been widely condemned for causing harm. This is not clarity. It is oversimplification used as a political tool. The reality is simple in a different way. Sex matters. Gender exists. Human biology is complex. Any argument that cannot hold all three at once is not describing reality.

@adamndsmith They have no meaningful or solid values unless it’s implicitly adhering to their biases. Trans lady’s probably better off anyway, who wants to be disparaged by bitter old ladies? Not me, I have one on my street and have to tell her to fuck off to hell constantly.

There is not a single trans woman in Australia who wants to hang out with these dusty old losers. Imagine wasting the final years of your life obsessing over trans women. Sad people.

The hyperbolic language of "policing toilets" is used to sow confusion and panic. Services should have rules and enforce them, as they do for things like health & safety rules. Let's get away from semantic nonsense about "policing" and "enforcing". Just follow the law.

I'd love them to define woman in a way that doesn't exclude substantial numbers of people who were registered female at birth
