Every day in America since 2016:

For the better part of a decade, trans activists had unprecedented political capital & could have cashed it in to accommodate 3rd, 4th or even 5th spaces. Anything to keep them happy. But they didn’t. Because the entire goal was to get men into women’s spaces & women to shut up.

🌎 Eighty organizations are urging the International Olympic Committee to continue denying women fair competition in the Olympics, but female athletes are clear: women want a protected category. Our organization, along with many others across the political spectrum and around the world, supports the use of a noninvasive, accurate cheek swab to protect the integrity of women’s competition. It is the only reliable way to ensure women are not denied life-changing opportunities in Olympic competition and sets a standard for all international and national sport federations below.

I dont think being overly emotional is particularly helpful when it comes to matters of the law but for the first time since becoming an MP I am genuinely sad about what parliament has done. I am sad because I know what the consequences will be. I am sad because I know nervous first time parents might give way to doubt and opt out of parenthood and how the reality of that means they'll be denied the greatest gift life will ever give them and instead inherit a life of monstrous guilt. I am sad because, now, healthy babies will be destroyed. I am really sorry that the UK has legalised full term abortion. For what it's worth, I voted NO. I am going to squeeze my children a little tighter and thank the universe a little more than normal this morning. You cannot become unpregnant. You just become the parent of a child you killed. That is the reality of life. We must face it. My babies.

@JournalistJill Trans woman are women and trans men are men is always my answer.

Transphobia is a refusal of educating yourself on trans topics because it makes you feel strong when you can weaponise your ignorance to harm the powerless. It is also extremely profitable.

I think Dave Roberts did not hear those rants, because people were extremely afraid to expose verboten views to someone who would deem them transphobic. So when the vibe shifted, it seemed astroturfed rather than authentic. But it was not only extremely authentic; it was the majority view I encountered.
