Turning off the water when your not using it can help to conserve energy and it even helps reduce carbon pollution which is a great way to benefit the environment! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Most lights in our area are powered by coal. While solar energy would be cleaner for the environment, they have limited availability and can be very costly. This energy allowed the lights to be on during my strep test😃👍🏼 #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Whenever I am not charging my phone, I make sure to unplug my charger. This helps to save energy and reduce the amount of coal burned for electricity!! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

How we get our electricity is from coal. By only having your light or fan on when necessary will not only save money but will also leave more of a positive impact on our Earth! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Granite is a heterogeneous rock, meaning that it's made up of multiple minerals. It was collected by surface mining and now it's a countertop! #apesland @franklinlorax

these are my dad’s bonsai tree plants, that are currently in their germination stage :) it is extremely important to make sure the correct soil is used for each respective plant, because this impacts the growth process! 🌱@franklinlorax #apesland

most of us live in low-density housing, this is where houses are more spread out & have more roads reducing the valuable land, we call these subdivisions. high-density housing is better since this is using less land, has less roads, and more apartments. @franklinlorax #apesland

These rocks in my backyard have high porosity and permeability due to their size. However, the water retention is low allowing water to flow right through. #apesland @franklinlorax

i am a family of 6 which is larger then the average family which is 4. my family leaves a bigger ecological footprint then the average size family because we have more people. #apespop @franklinlorax

This salad is an example of a vegetarian meal. After learning how many resources I use through my ecological footprint, I pledged to have a vegetarian meal at least once a month. This change reduced my footprint by 1 earth, which is a big difference. 🌎 @franklinlorax #apespop

This is my brother Alex. Because we are the only two kids, we have an average sized family. This means we take up less resources and don’t have as big of a ecological footprint. #apespop @franklinlorax

My dog is an example of a K-strategist. K-strategists produce less offspring and are great at nurturing their young, unlike R-strategists which produce more offspring and provide less care! @franklinlorax #apeseco
