I love my sister. I would drive to Madison everyday to see her, but instead I facetime her. By facetiming instead of driving , I reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. This is way better for the environment:) @franklinlorax #apesair

This is my car that runs only on regular unleaded gasoline (Petrol). There are alternative vehicles that are better for the environment like hybrid cars that use gasoline and the battery, or electric cars, but these can be more inconvenient to fill up. @franklinlorax #apesenergy

Kyle has lots of extra things plugged in that he isn't using, which uses more energy than he needs to, increasing energy bills for his family @franklinlorax #apesenergy

My house is powered by coal which emits CO2 into the atmosphere. Other energy sources like wind and solar energy are cleaner for the environment. However, the problem with these energy sources is that they vary in availability and intensity. @franklinlorax #apesenergy

The car I drive is a Toyota Hylander. This vehicle is a hybrid. This means that it is better for the environment! Though this car isn’t electric, it still makes a positive difference:) @franklinlorax #apesenergy

Phoebe loves going outside and catching mice which is why having public wetlands in our backyard gives her a great place to explore😸 @franklinlorax #apesland

In the background of this photo I took in Puerto Rico, there’s a dug up mountain. Because of all the vegetation, the soil here is very nutrient packed and good for growing. That is why companies here dig it up to send to places with unusable soil. #apesland @franklinlorax

My neighborhood is a great example of low-density housing where we live on more land than we would in high-density housing like an apartment in the city. #apesland @franklinlorax

There are many different types of soils, such as silt, sand, or clay. Depending on the type of soil, porosity, water retention, and permeability can vary. @franklinlorax #apesland

Here is my (dying) plant that I keep in my room. If you look closely, you canseetheorganic material in the soil. Humus is organic material (once-living) and breaks down into soil, which can include roots and sticks. The humus also provides a rustic look. #apesland @franklinlorax

This is where my family grows a vegetable garden in the summer. Just like the radishes we grew in class, the soil here needs to have a specific amount of potassium, phosphates, nitrates as well as a specific pH in order to grow the vegetables we plant. @franklinlorax #apesland
