China isn't turning into a “green superpower.” Any renewable energy systems they're installing only add to existing energy sources; they are not replacing fossil fuels at all. China is increasing their use of ALL energy.

@PeterMcCormack Have you not noticed that China is turning itself into a green superpower and that the future is green? Do you want us to be left behind as a fossil fuel dinosaur?

Dr Rahmeh Aladwan arrested AGAIN for breaking bail conditions for posting online supporting a terrorist organisation. She compares herself to Nelson Mandela as she’s carted away in handcuffs. What an ego.

@Bmac0507 Case in point. Gladiator was just utterly wild with the history, but no one cared, as so entertaining. Gladiator II....the wild history became an issue as it was just rubbish. When we're entertained, most people don't care.

In 1960, the world used ~1.5 hectares of farmland per person. By 2023, that fell to ~0.62, less than half. Innovation diffused the "population bomb."

@Homiedino Really, 🇵🇸 is a very niche issue that actually directly affects a very small demographic. The other issues you list, will affect a much wider range of people, but when you have 💣 & images of war on the daily via SM, it dominates. But really, does nothing for the majority poor.

The thing I find most annoying about Palestine becoming the left’s omnicause is it has wiped out activism and messaging on nearly every other topic. Nobody talks about climate change, universal healthcare, corporate consolidation, housing, global far-right ascension, worker’s rights, you name it. Don’t get me wrong, Palestine is very important, but it’s not the only thing that matters and every unrelated group shifting their focus to Palestine effectively cedes the ground on every other issue to the right.

@DefiantLs Those that have the wealth that can move, will do so. Those, like the middle classes, will increasingly have to bear the tax burden for less services because they don't have the wealth to move. All you will do is radicalise those who feel ever more taxed & put upon by the State.

@DefiantLs This just sounds as if a layer of bureaucracy is being added to involve some form of mental health social care worker to dispatch calls. The problem is, who's doing the assessment? Will every police encounter need that worker with them? If so, you're looking at ballooning cost.

@cjsnowdon It's stuff like this that makes a significant number of people think there's money to spend on anything. The seeming lack of any oversight or accountability on spending millions on nothing while we stagger into the next economic crisis just radicalises people.

Help settle something for me: Two cars are travelling from London to Cardiff and back using the same route at the same time. The red car does the entire journey at 60mph. The blue car does the first leg to Cardiff at 50mph then speeds up and completes the return leg at 70mph. Which car arrives back in London first?
