@birdbrawns @Ezliving702 @TukiFromKL "Undocumented" meaning the US Gov is unaware of their entry into the Country. Legally they are still Citizens of their Country of Origin, and subject to the jurisdiction of that Country. Hence the reason deportation exists. We are returning a citizen of another country back🧵

🚨 Do you understand what SCOTUS is about to decide? in 1857, the Supreme Court ruled that Black Americans... even those born free on American soil.. could never be citizens.. it was called the Dred Scott decision.. one of the most shameful rulings in legal history.. it took a Civil War and 360,000 Union deaths to fix it.. in 1868, Congress passed the 14th Amendment.. "all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens".. no exceptions.. no asterisks.. they wrote it that way on purpose.. so no government could ever again decide who counts as American on this soil.. it has stood for 156 years.. Trump signed an executive order trying to end it.. not a constitutional amendment.. not an act of Congress.. an executive order.. and SCOTUS is about to decide if that's allowed.. here's what nobody's saying out loud.. this isn't about immigration.. if a president can override the 14th Amendment with an executive order.. there is no amendment a president cannot override with an executive order.. one executive order just did what the Confederacy couldn't.

BREAKING: SCOTUS is about to consider upholding President Trump’s birthright citizenship executive order.

@LSD1927 @TukiFromKL But it doesn’t say full jurisdiction. It says jurisdiction. All tourists can be charged with crimes and arrested, deported, etc. American citizens can’t be tried with things like immigration violations, so by your own tortured logic we aren’t subject to the full jurisdiction.

“Subject to the jurisdiction there of” is an extremely important clause of this 14A. Are all tourists Americans? Surely not, as they are not subject to the full jurisdiction of US criminal law (ex: they cannot be tried for treason). That clause, then, must restrict some birthright citizenship. And it’s likely to be the initial intention was if one or both of your parents were to be US citizens, then you would be. The citizenship clause was merely to overturn said SCOTUS case and give freedmen citizenship. Not to give every anchor baby citizenship

@Counter_Intt @TukiFromKL I doubt it, but even if true, then the author can’t write worth a damn. It would have been extremely easy to add language to the effect of what you say. It wasn’t added. The meaning of the wording is plain as day except to insane partisans who twist it into the opposite meaning.

@TukiFromKL The author of the amendment stated himself under no circumstances does this apply to foreigners who happen to give birth on American soil. They are subject to another countries jurisdiction and thus would not receive US citizenship. Why do the left always lie?

@mrjaggers1812 @TukiFromKL The writers of the 2nd amendment never contemplated guns that could fire dozens of times a second or with pinpoint accuracy from thousands of feet away, but that doesn’t stop you ninnies, does it?

They never contemplated millions upon millions of anchor babies. This is not what the amendment was about. Win or lose, it will be good to finally settle this dispute. If SCOTUS rules against the Trump Administration, it will be the justification for increased enforcement. If Trump wins, it will be the cover for an immigration compromise bill. So be careful what you want!

@Eheroduelist2 @Microinteracti1 @nighttimemedia sense. The most likely one is that Israel wanted to attack and unlike past presidents who had the balls to tell Netanyahu to fuck off, Trump can’t think critically at all so he just said “what’s the worst that could happen? Nobody in the Trump administration planned for Iran to shut the Strait of Hormuz. Nobody planned for sustained missile strikes on American bases across the Gulf. Nobody planned for an energy crisis. Nobody planned for Europe to look at Washington, shrug, and walk the other way. Nobody, it turns out, planned for very much at all. Read the accounts of how this war was decided and you are left with one deeply uncomfortable realisation: the people who launched it appear to have been genuinely surprised by almost everything that followed. The Iranians shot back. The allies didn’t show up. The oil price went vertical. All of it, apparently, news to them. Which leaves two questions so obvious they’re almost embarrassing to ask. What exactly did they think was going to happen? And did anyone, in any room, at any point, think further ahead than the applause? Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Those wheels you’re looking at are 0.75 millimeters thick. That’s half the thickness of a US dime. Each one was carved from a single block of aluminum, and NASA sent six of them to Mars knowing they’d eventually shred. Curiosity was built for a 2-year mission. It landed in August 2012, and by December that year NASA had already extended the mission indefinitely. Thirteen years and 35.5 kilometers later, the rover is still going, but the wheels started cracking just 14 months in. The damage came faster than anyone at JPL predicted. Sharp embedded rocks were punching straight through the skin between the treads. So NASA assembled a Wheel Wear Tiger Team (a crisis problem-solving tradition that goes back to Apollo 13) and got to work. In 2017, they uploaded a traction control algorithm from Earth that adjusts each wheel’s speed in real time based on the terrain, reducing force on the front wheels by 20%. They rerouted the rover to softer ground and started driving backward when possible, because pulling wheels over rocks produces less force than pushing them into rocks. The wildest part: if enough treads snap off, Curiosity is designed to find a sharp rock on Mars and use it to deliberately rip out the damaged inner section of its own wheel. JPL tested this on a replica rover and found Curiosity can keep driving on just the outer third. They predict this won’t be needed until around 2034. Every 1,000 meters, the rover pulls over and uses the camera on its robotic arm to photograph its own wheels so engineers on Earth can count every crack. Each wheel also has tiny holes that spell “JPL” in Morse code, which Curiosity uses to measure distance by photographing its own tracks in the dirt. These photos directly changed the next rover. When NASA built Perseverance, engineers 3D-printed about 70 different tread designs before landing on 48 curved treads instead of Curiosity’s 24, with thicker skin. They tested the new wheels over 60 kilometers and got zero damage by Curiosity’s original failure definition. “A boring graph with no data on it,” as one JPL engineer put it. A $2.5 billion machine doing self-surgery with rocks on another planet because the mission outlasted its design by 6x.
