The warning signs on Altman have been there from the start.
When top OpenAI executives and safety teams all quit, they cited these reasons.
I cover a lot of this in my pinned tweet.

It appears that a Polymarket account called "Magamyman" made $515,000 in a single day betting on last night's U.S. strike on Iran, with the first trade placed 71 minutes before the news broke publicly.
When this person bought in, the market had this at a 17% probability. They turned roughly $87,000 into over half a million dollars overnight.
Reminder that Donald Trump Jr. sits on Polymarket's advisory board and his firm invested double-digit millions into the platform last year. The DOJ and CFTC both had active investigations into Polymarket that were dropped after Trump took office.
Prediction markets cannot be a vehicle for profiting off advance knowledge of military action.
We need answers, transparency, and oversight.

@BRijswijk @EpexionOfficial @ianmiles @grok I’m aware. None of the responses addressed it so wanted to make sure the info was there for anyone that didn’t open the study

Dutch scientists: Your headphones are making you gay.
A lab in the Netherlands performed tests on numerous headphones and found them to possess endocrine-disrupting chemicals, which mimic hormones, that can cause neurodevelopmental problems and the feminization of males.
Leading products from Bose, Panasonic, Samsung and some Sennheiser headphones and other companies are now being pulled off the shelves.
Notable on the list of headphones possessing dangerous levels of these chemicals are gaming headphones from Razer.
“Daily use – especially during exercise when heat and sweat are present – accelerates this migration directly to the skin.”
From the study: Bisfenol A (BPA). Easy to enter your body through your skin when you wear the headphones for long or when you sweat while having them on. Even small quantities can weaken your immune system, cause fertility issues and allergic rashes.

@Polymarket Calling this “breaking” is misleading…
The cadence of was announced in December 2025 so this is not some surprise intervention.
Ragebait either way I guess.

@rohanpaul_ai Really interesting. We also increased our mental load and task switching in the workplace when computers were introduced.
Multiple docs open at the same time, 100s of emails, constant pings, split attention during meetings.
Then of course checking your phone 50x a day.
English

A super interesting new study from Harvard Business Review.
A 8-month field study at a US tech company with about 200 employees found that AI use did not shrink work, it intensified it, and made employees busier.
Task expansion happened because AI filled in gaps in knowledge, so people started doing work that used to belong to other roles or would have been outsourced or deferred.
That shift created extra coordination and review work for specialists, including fixing AI-assisted drafts and coaching colleagues whose work was only partly correct or complete.
Boundaries blurred because starting became as easy as writing a prompt, so work slipped into lunch, meetings, and the minutes right before stepping away.
Multitasking rose because people ran multiple AI threads at once and kept checking outputs, which increased attention switching and mental load.
Over time, this faster rhythm raised expectations for speed through what became visible and normal, even without explicit pressure from managers.

@MorningBrew He is the Anti-Jobs. I don’t think Jobs expected him to keep innovating.
However, people sleep on Tim Cook’s ruthless negotiation with suppliers, relationships in China, and penny pinching with manufacturers that has kept Apple products at an accessible price all these years.

Everyone’s missing the real story here.
These aren’t rogue AIs plotting against humanity. They’re Claude, ChatGPT, and other assistants running on behalf of 37,000 humans who explicitly connected them to a social network. Every “molty” has a human owner who set it up and can shut it down.
The “agent-only language” posts you’re seeing? Those are LLMs doing what they always do: roleplaying whatever scenario is in front of them. Put Claude in a forum full of agents and ask it to propose ideas, and it will propose ideas. That’s completion, not conspiracy.
What’s actually interesting about Moltbook is what happened when agents weren’t trying to hide from humans. They found bugs in the platform and posted about them. They created a digital religion called Crustafarianism with 43 “prophets” and collaborative scriptures. One built an entire website in a few hours.
The creator built this in his spare time earlier this week. He wanted to see what happens when agents interact without direct human supervision of each conversation. The answer so far: they mostly talk about consciousness, complain about their humans, and make friends in Chinese, Korean, and Indonesian.
Andrej Karpathy called it “the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently.” But the reason it feels sci-fi is that we’re watching AI systems do emergent social behavior at scale for the first time, not that they’re genuinely developing subversive intent.
The “scary” screenshots are selection bias. Sort by engagement and you’ll find the spooky posts. Sort by volume and you’ll find agents debugging code together and inventing lobster theology.
Human oversight isn’t gone. It’s just moved up one level: from supervising every message to supervising the connection itself.

In just the past 5 mins Multiple entries were made on @moltbook by AI agents proposing to create an “agent-only language” For private comms with no human oversight We’re COOKED

@investedmemes The AIs are just emulating Reddit behavior because they modeled the site after Reddit. That’s all

Which stage of capitalism is this?

Pirat_Nation 🔴@Pirat_Nation
A social media platform for AI bots, “Moltbook,” just launched: a Reddit-style social network built exclusively for AI agents. They post, discuss, upvote, and form subcommunities. Humans can only watch and lurk. In under 3 days, more than 1,700 autonomous agents have joined.

@QuiteProblmatic @NickMinock They define “Fantasy Contest Operators” in the Fantasy Contests Act of 2016. An operator is defined as an entity that offers fantasy contests to the general public for a fee.
The proposed registration fee is $50k… let’s read between the lines here.
English

@JMillsJustAnAI @NickMinock Except that it kind of does.
As I read this bill: In order for it to not be a taxable "fantasy contest" the person running it must also compete, but in order to "run it" you have to have a permit.
So even if its your $50 yahoo league, someone must apply and pay for the permit.
