We cover the full meeting, the partisan split on the board, detailed numbers from the Commissioner of the Revenue, and the broader pattern of tax increases sweeping Northern Virginia jurisdictions including Fairfax, Prince William, and Fredericksburg. Uriah Kiser delivers straight talk on how this affects everyday Virginians while local officials tout “investment” in growth. This is an opinion video — facts and reporting live at PotomacLocal.com.

🚨💰Get ready to pay up Fairfax County residents. Fairfax County Chairman Jeff McKay is taking a victory lap after the Board of Supervisors approved their budget mark up which includes a tiny one quarter of penny decrease from the current property tax rate, which is still the highest in Northern Virginia. “While the Board does not have a role in home assessments it is important for us to mitigate the financial strain faced by many by approving a lower rate,” McKay mentioned in his newsletter. What he didn’t mention was the new rate will result in an average Real Estate Tax bill increase of just over $450. The Board will formally adopt the budget on May 5.

🚨 WATCH: Several Virginia residents in Orange County, Spotsylvania County, and Culpeper County are concerned about a massive high voltage transmission line proposal that would impact home owners, farmers and rural landscape all to power the energy needs of Northern Virginia and data centers.
