I’ve defended Mendoza from a lot of unfair criticism (imo) but this is inexcusable and indefensible.
Walk both guys and go for DP or K.
You then have the pitcher hitting because the Cubs lost their DH.

How are you aligning the defense w/ PCA at 3rd and Hoerner at 1st, with only one out?

@JNMets It also meant he didn’t understand that none of those extra runners meant anything so he should have just loaded the bases to create a force out at every base.
If you’re not trusting Luis Torrens to throw a runner out, what can you trust in the sport.

I have to say for Mendoza to blatantly announce oh nico horner was stealing second, if he was walked, tells me he didn’t trust his infield nor his catcher to tag him out if he even tried to steal second, which is not a good sign whatsoever.
but to throw your catcher who is one of the best in the league defensively, under the bus in such a subtle fashion is not a good look. Sure he messed up the framing in the 10th, but this loss is sorely on the offense. #LGM

I am not oblivious to the fact that they are not winning games so it’s hard to think a series win is likely.
