@LainzAPol @AbolishTedCruz Modern liberalism is massively different (right wing) than FDR's liberalism. FDR essentially introduced the term to the US as a way to sell American votes on socialist adjacent policies without invoking being called a communist.

SITUATION DETECTED: Minnesota has become the first state to ban prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi. The new law, signed by Gov. Tim Walz, makes it a felony to create, operate, manage, or advertise a prediction market in the state.

@nick_archuletas @MTSlive The fake daycare think was massively astroturfed and overembelished. Even if the fraud was double as a bad as online detectives made it out to be, predictions markets have way more potential to damage society

@RuariJM @GibsonWrites That’s not what’s happening here, OP is referencing a catholic belief that the Catholic Church is the one true church and all other so called Christians are heretics. It’s pretty old and anachronistic to the way that most people view the world.

"The world's largest Christian denomination..." Oh dear.
OSV News@OSVNews

@VP JD Vance on the upcoming release of Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical, "Magnifica Humanitas", on AI during a press briefing today: "I think when the Pope issues an encyclical on artificial intelligence, it's going to have some influence... I think when the leader of the world's largest Christian denomination speaks on an issue like that, it's certainly going to have some influence, and I'm sure it will contain a lot of insights, some of which I'll probably agree with, some of which I may not, but I think that it's going to be a very, very important document... One of the things I always find fascinating about Pope Leo is that he chose the name Leo XIV, which, of course, is recollecting Leo XIII. Leo XIII was the Pope during a period of incredible industrial transformation in the entire world, of course... I think it was interesting that Leo XIV chose that name to maybe apply Christian social teaching in a new era with a new technological innovation, in the same way that the Industrial Revolution was the technological innovation of its time. So, I think it'll be fascinating. I'm looking forward to reading it. My guess is it's going to have a lot of influence." @Pontifex #magnificahumanitas #AI

@pothock3ts @justxavierisunc I think that is factored into reviews. This person is complaining the reviewer didnt play the high difficulty, which tbh would give the review a bad slant as it wouldnt be reflective of the experience most readers would get if they buy it

@JOEVIBIN64 @justxavierisunc You can't say a game is too easy if it provides a more difficult option for those who want it. It's not surprising that the default difficulty of a kids game is easy. Any player who wants a challenge can just bump it up. No reason to lower the rating for that.

@justxavierisunc No one at a major publication should review a game playing anything other than the recommended difficulty. The point of reviewing is to give insight to potential consumers about what the average playthrough will be like for most people. They are writing for an audience.

Also he didn't play on dark knight, so it is kind of crazy to say the game is too easy while being on the normal difficulty

@MookalH Highly dependant to the point that I wouldnt trust anyone's figures. They are all negotiated contracts. Rights holders are way more willing to cut deals for smaller projects than big ones. Its not like going to a store and buying something at MSRP, its widely variable.

@AnAverageGamerX I have done ot before, the answer, it wildly depends. For a project like this, its not completely out of the ordinary and not wildely expensive considering the songs the picked are all back catalog.

@moxwah @ZikadaPrime Maybe im crazy, but I actually prefer the stick throttle system from gran turismo games over analog triggers for throttle any day. Feels way more responsive if you want anything other than full go or stop.

@sharintaint @NepSwirlRedux @MinModulation Im sorry but its really not the case. A studio would hire a music supervisor who would head the negotiation. The publishing company of the game is involved from a legal standpoint reviewing contracts but the contract is between the studio and the owner of the music rights

@TheIshikawaRin Because these contracts are negotiated largely by size and scope of project. Annapurna would not have a part in this negotiation it would be the studio, the fact that annapurna is involved in the project is a footnote and wouldn't matter at all when determining price.

@NepSwirlRedux @JOEVIBIN64 @MinModulation That doesn't matter. As long as everyone in negotiations knows Annapurna is a fake indie with billions in funding they're not getting discounts from artists (nor should they). It would be an easy way for rich studios to take advantage of artists if they did.

@sharintaint @MinModulation Sorry but this is not how things work when it comes to negotiation of contracts. A publisher is not the same as the company producing the game. The deals are set mainly based on budget, scope, size of project, and of course popularity of the song.

@JOEVIBIN64 @MinModulation Annapurna, multi-squillionaire David Ellison's pet project, is not getting a discount. This is not a small indie game and everyone involved knows it. No representative for a band is giving one of the richest men in the world a discount because they go through a shell company.

@Meelsie143 Music licenses are negotiated contracts. The terms are essentially up to the license holder. They rarely want to give up an unlimited time contract to anyone other than a small contract/studio because they know they can double dip from them in the future.
