@British_Airways A new low for you this morning. I have just been subjected to verbal abuse by one of your Boarding Gate staff at Heathrow. Witnessed by fellow passengers. If I were to call a member of BA staff “stupid” would this be tolerated? No. Shocking and shocked.

Wow. It’s 2024 and I’ve just had to crawl along the floor of this LOT Polish airline to get to the toilet during a flight back from Warsaw as “we don’t have onboard wheelchairs. It’s airline policy”. If you’re disabled and you can’t walk this is just discriminatory.

Debate verdict: a clear success for Harris because she got under Trump’s skin, repeatedly. Trump ran head first into most of her traps. She started badly but became more and more assured as Trump descended into ranting and non sequiturs. Crucially, there are about a half dozen strong clips for her which will travel everywhere, across all platforms, hitting her key messages. Trump’s main clip will be about immigrants eating pets.

@JOMAX10 My son has had a broken arm, broken wrist and quite major plastic surgery following an accident with a motorised surf board, his elder brother has had 5 breaks, so I’m pretty confident in the event of an emergency he’d be able to cope. It wouldn’t be his first rodeo.

terrible homesickness, still do, and would never have done what he did, but now I feel not just proud of my child, but also happy that he is part of a fellowship of travellers, people who began young and have gone on to be positive, considerate people it seems. 🙏 😘

@JOMAX10 Also the streets around Saint Sulpice church/St Germain marché are full of lots of nice bars/cafés which are quite buzzing. And there’s a fan zone by St Sulpice church. Which if France is in fencing/judo etc is jumping!

Paris #Olympics. The French fans have been wonderful. The moment any French athlete stepped onto track last night the crowd went wild. Alez Les Blues! But the city is deserted. Café owner told me they’re shutting next week because tourist numbers are 50% normal August

@hwallop Canoe sprint, 2 x athletics, track cycling and closing ceremony. Will def. have time for some sightseeing along the way. Unusually for me, nothing planned in advance nor a single restaurant booked as yet 😱, so good to know that getting around is not the headache I had imagined.

@JOMAX10 If you’re here for a few days and got time for sight seeing, now is great time! We booked to go to Louvre early (10am) and it was really not crowded like usual. Not sure buying Metro Paris pass was worth it. We’ve ended walking lots. Which events you seeing?
