@canncon @MarshallsFolly Bahahaha! 🤣
I agree that some/most laws are dumb, but we wouldn’t have them if people weren’t so dumb. It’s why we can’t have nice things.
Have a good Memorial Day. Remember their names and tell their stories. 🇺🇸

Bikes on sidewalks: 10-20mph. Clear communication capability. Easy diversion techniques (step to the side, stop the bike, jump out of the way, ride in the grass, etc).
vs.
Car doing 45mph with distracted driver and no communication either way due to an enclosed cabin and next to no reaction time.
I know what the law is. But the law is dumb.
English

@canncon @MarshallsFolly Yeah sorry, you’re wrong Brian. Bikes have no business on sidewalks. This is why most municipalities have bike lanes and laws concerning bicycle riders to obey vehicle traffic laws.
I do agree with you about tubby tubby being a bitch.

I'm losing lots and lots more followers today because I am glad Thomas "Look at ME!" Massie lost.
So I might as well go all in and purge all the freaks from my follower base.
There are hundreds of nations and thousands of interest groups that constantly seek to influence American public policy.
If the only nation doing that which you are bothered by is Israel, and if the only PAC doing that which you are bothered by is AIPAC, and if you drone on incessantly, endlessly and vigorously about Israel/AIPAC and no OTHER NATION OR PAC, rational, intelligent people know why that is.
It's because you are an antisemite.
And if you want to say "Oh you are so wrong, I'm bothered by ALL nations and PACs attempting to influence US policy," but literally the only time you ever mention it in your X feed is in the context of Israel, you are an antisemite.
Don't like that? Want to unfollow me because I said that?
Good.
Beat it.

On this day 13 years ago, my only son was sworn in to the US Army. In ten days, it will be 12 years since he was killed in Afghanistan 2 weeks before he was due to come home. He was just 21. This week is also Memorial Day. My greatest fear now is that he will be forgotten. Please help me remember my boy during this tough week of special dates (share if you feel inspired. It never gets easier but the love and support always helps. ♥️🇺🇸

Jake was a Christian, an athlete, a patriot, an artist, dog lover, a friend to all and the funniest, happiest guy in the platoon. Jake, you’ve left a huge void in our lives, but we will see you one day and there will no more heartache and no more goodbyes ♥️🇺🇸

@VikingRobVWO @codym1917 Yes, only if you’re an active service member, but it’ll still not be viewed as ‘service connected’ by the VA.

@Grunt2A @BeardedTexan69 So THATS why it’s called bird shot
English

Yesterday I overheard someone talking, nay... bragging, about their great idea to run birdshot in a 12 gauge home defense gun. I had to chime in. My advice was received in exactly the manner you are assuming it was. The guy I was honestly trying to help not get killed in a home invasion informed me that I don't know what I'm talking about and how birdshot will obliterate a human torso.
People, birdshot has one advantage in a home defense scenario. It won't blow a hole through drywall and hurt someone on the other side. In other words its lone single advantage is that it doesn't make holes in things well. (I REALLY wish X would let me put a 'looking down on you' gif image inline right here because this paragraph needs one)
Birdshot is made to hunt.... brace yourselves for this incoming truth bomb... birds. Know what birds are? Small and naked. Don't use the ammo designed to kill a 3 pound pheasant to take down a 240 pound methed up home invader wearing a heavy denim jacket.
For some reason people think that at close range the shot will all be clumped together and hit hard like a solid slug. Spoiler alert, no it won't! Why? Because physics. A 12 gauge slug is 1 piece. When the tip of the slug hits the bad guy and starts slowing down the back of the slug is still pushing forward. It causes the slug to deform and mushroom as it pushes the front through soft tissue, causing the energy of the round to be transferred into the bad guy in the process.
Birdshot does not do that. The pellets in the back aren't connected to the pellets in the front. When the pellets in front slow down on impact the ones in the back can (and do) push out the sides where there is less resistance to their momentum. Birdshot's terminal ballistics act more similar to fluid dynamics than to solid projectiles. (Dangit! I want an inline photo of Isaac Newton facepalming right here. Come on, X! Update the formatting options)
As for not having good drywall penetration, making it safer for home defense, that makes it safer for the bad guy, too! I assure you the human sternum is stronger than drywall.
I get it. Your kid is sleeping behind a sheet of drywall. Strays are a real problem. But you mitigate that by having a hide position picked out in advance that you can get to in a home invasion and wait. Your position should be one that the bad guy has to go past in order to get to your family, where you can aim your shotgun in a direction that won't hit your family if you miss. You should not be going room clearing because you watched a movie about Navy SEALs and think it looks easy. Have a hide picked out, get to it, and wait quietly for the threat to come to you. I'll do a whole thing on how to choose a hide position another time. This is how to keep your family safe. You don't do it by bringing Nerf darts to a gunfight.
Can birdshot kill an intruder? Yes. It can happen and has happened. But is it guaranteed to put down an intruder that wants to harm your family on the first shot? Nope. Birdshot is light weight and can easily get stopped by a heavy denim jacket with a couple cushy fabric layers behind it that cushions the blow. The pellet penetration won't go very deep at all on a fat guy with lots of natural padding covering vital organs. And even on a naked skinny dude most of the birdshot it going to be embedded just below the skin. Will it hurt? Yeah it would hurt YOU. But you aren't jacked up on whatever drug cocktail the home invader took that made him thinking breaking into your house was a good idea in the first place.
When there is a drug fueled psycho coming up your stairs at 3am you know what the absolute last thing you want to have to do is? Pull the trigger twice. 00 buckshot to the torso will end the attack on the first shot every single time. Drugs can let a criminal brush off pain. Drugs don't let you ignore your heart being turned into hamburger and stuffed into your right lung.
Now if you want to make arguments on 00 buck vs #1 or #4 or even slugs..... hey have at it. There are valid points to be had for any of those. They all have advantages and tradeoffs over each other. But the one thing they all have in common is that they are all designed to take down large mammals. (Gonna throw some more science at you here.... guess what a home invader is? You guessed it, a large mammal!)
Before I leave you with this dropped knowledge I also want to address the "I alternate my shells with birdshot and buckshot" crowd. To you guys, please stop doing this. Unless you live on the water and there is a 90% or greater chance that your attacker will be a pirate who sends in his parrot as a first wave of attack, do not alternate your shells with bird and buckshot.
The birdshot shells might be intended to be a warning. But when there is a dangerous criminal inside your house, the time for warnings is over. Besides, what if you manage to miss with the buckshot round (It can happen in a chaotic gun fight in the dark) or the buckshot jams or fails to fire and you have to cycle to the birdshot round that is next in the tube as the tweaker is pissed off and running towards you? Just stop doing this alternate shell nonsense.
To the guy I offered this unsolicited advice to yesterday who didn't want to hear any of it.... my dude, if you are reading this... at least consider my advice to get bars on your windows. They will help you more than the birdshot you inexplicably want to trust your life to.

Any use of deadly force with a firearm, whether from a cop or from a civilian, is going to be heavily scrutinized.
This means they are going to look at the entire picture, which yes, involves your history, and not just the moments surrounding that incident.
If you are minding your own business and someone attacks you and you use deadly force with a firearm, you are still going to have investigators and the DA determining if what you did was a good shoot.
If you have social media posts saying how you will smoke someone without pause, that is going to damage your attempt at claiming self defense.
If you are constantly provoking people, harassing people, and calling people racial slurs on camera for clicks and then you shoot someone, you are going to be even more heavily scrutinized… especially if you were already out on bond and have priors.
It’s not about free speech. It’s not about words that hurt your feelings.
None of that matters.
Even if you believe the shooting was justified, you still may have to defend that decision in court.
Period.
Thats why a police officer gets placed on leave after an officer involved shooting until the investigation is complete.
Thats why you, as a law abiding citizen and legal gun owner, must make every effort to ensure that if you do end up having to use your firearm in a deadly force situation, your self defense case is clear cut.
Anything else is going to cost you tons of time and money to fight (it may even if you are 100% cleared… ask Kyle).
This is the reality most of you are ignoring as you make this about everything but what it is actually about.
Go take a CCW course if you don’t believe me.
